Hate to say it, but Bright & Cheap is the easiest trick to pull off in the flashlight industry. You honestly overpaid for that light. Not a huge fan of Maglite. But honestly if the Gerber is going to be your main light out in Belize, you might want to seriously consider getting a better quality light that isn't very expensive to use. Something like a Mini-Mag 2AA LED model.

I say that because there's a very common misconception that somehow "quality" is simply tossed in for free when someone buys a light that is specifically billed as "bright" & "cheap."

    It never is.

I get that bright + cheap don't equal quality, and I agree that the button on the Gerber felt a little cheap.

On the other hand, this light blows the doors off my Mini-Maglite in terms of lighting up a dark room (or cave). Plus, it feels sturdier, and I prefer the button to the twist switch on the Maglite. It survived Belize, in any case. I've never owned a Fenix or other higher quality light, so I can't attest to how this stacks up against something like that.

I have a surefire fury. Expensive, but super bright (dual output), great size and weight.

Taking a walk with the Surefire 6PX Pro in hand. It's my jacket pocket light. Love this beast.

If you don't carry it every day, it's not every day carry.

Is it the 200 lumen model or the newer 320 lumen model. I have the 200 lumen light and love it especially my red one commemorating 9/11

The L10 P7 is a fantastic setup eh? Not much bigger than its AAs.
I love my L10 high CRI 4 mode. Beam profile on mine is exceptional for the $.

It's the 320 lumen version. This thing is bright enough to be overkill for nearly any use. I use the low setting the most, of course :) These really are great lights!
