Aaargh, I am totally not qualified to answer your question, they only point that barely holds my interest in flashlights is, that they throw some light out of the working end...and...that they are handy and handsome. :giggle:

    Thx, Mate. :)

Having a look at the flashlight right know, I would guesstimate, that it scratches pretty quickly, but it would probably be a toss between that and the more significant weight of the SS version. :)

My Maratac AA Rev. 2. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this flashlight, and can't believe how much more I use it than my previous lights.

Tritium and Titanium, I had to have it. The Tritium is gorgeous! So, I just got mine today and the control ring doesn't stop in a notch when it's off like it does in low, medium, and high. Is yours like that?

The ring in mine definitely clicks in place in the off position as in the others. If your light does not come from too far away (customs, etc.) I suggest you have it replaced, an off position without notch leads to unwanted switch ons.

Will the switch turn on in your pocket accidentally?

I've had it for about a month, and so long as I have it turned a half a turn off, it doesn't come on. I've never had it come on accidentally, whereas, I had an old Incan AA Maglite that I'd carry in the same fashion, and it came on accidentally all the time. The curious part is, the Maglite had a really stiff rotating bezel, and had no knurling to speak of, but the Maratac, is the complete opposite, having smooth threads, and a lot of knurling, but it only comes on when I want it to.
