The SunDrop beam is perfect for short-to-medium range distances, which does fall between the ideal ranges for the Mule (short range, within arm's reach) and the Haiku (medium-to-long range).

But it is more than just that, since the beam quality is very smooth to the edge, then just stops, which is very different than either the Mule (no edge at all) or the Haiku (traditional hot spot and spill) .

And, I don't mean to reply for Nicrod , it's just tough to pass up an opportunity to discuss my favorite McGizmo ... the SunDrop :D

Thank you for the nice comments.

And thank you to Archimedes for responding. Couldn't have said it better!

Yes you are correct. If you already have the Mule, and you like it, then you should love the sundrop. I had a Mule for a short while and traded it away. It was too much of a niche light for my needs. The sundrop is much more useful for me.

It does focus the light forward a lot more than the Mule. A nice blend between Mule, and Haiku. I'll be keeping this one in my collection.

I love that little SunDrop Creation. It's so tiny and cute. Good job putting that one together.

This beam and tint has to be just about the best you can get in the world at this present moment.

I marvel at how far we've come(human beings). Not just flashlights but in everything.

But specifically talking flashlights, it's simply amazing what we've done with this ability to create Photons from a hand held portable device.

Anybody have experience with the new Olight S1 yet? I'm interested in maybe replacing a Fenix E15 with the S1 (I know the S1 is slightly larger according to the specs on Olight's page) but not sure about spending the money to test it out....

Fenix P3D, great little flashlight with several modes in a small package, I'm not a big fan of belt holsters for EDC so my first line gear has to fit comfortably in my pockets. Been using it on and off for years and it's still going strong.

    Just made a test.
With the magnet mounted in the s10. Inserted in my skinth in the belt.
Both the compass and the internal compass in the Garmin gps got a different reading when it was in my hand at a normal using position.

The magnet is a no go for me in my hunting EDC.

On the one in my normal EDC it will stay.

Labor Day edc flashlight for pocket duty today is a Leto N8 zoomable 1AA/14500 LED light. The Nitecore 14500 rechargeable battery cost more than the flashlight, and getting it back out with the snug fit is a worrisome chore, lol... :giggle:

Are you saying that you keep the compass and magnet stored close together? Yeah, that's bound to have an effect I'm sure. I were thinking that you should be OK if you carried the compass in a pocket furthest away from the torch that's clipped on the belt,..try that and see how close your hand would have to come towards the belt for the needle to go off course.

Friends… My name is Andrew and I have a flashlights addiction.

I want a Prometheus Beta QR, the new Muyshondt Aeon MkIII, a McGizmo SunDrop and probably something else in another couple weeks.
I don't know which one to pull the trigger on next. Obviously the Beta isn't in the same bracket at the others price wise so that seems like an easier buy, but those other 2….

I just got some new foam for one of my Pelican cases and decided to put my favorites in it. Looks like I got room for about 2 or 3 more special additions ;)
