That's always looked quite beefy/wide compared to other cr123 lights in pictures. Is there much of a difference in width?

It is a little bit beefier than the Mini 123 and Quark AA (the head is the same size as the 123 model). Hopefully these pictures can give you a good idea of it's size.

That definitely puts the light into perspective, Its not too big at all as compared to what I first thought. I saw it can take Rcr's too so its going on the wishlist!!
    Thanks for the pics!

If the titanium threads on that light start giving you trouble, I sell a special Ti thread lube over on CPF, called TiTi Twister.

I'd like to add to the photos. After a worthwhile thread, I decided to carry a Fenix LD12. I carry it in my Leatherman leather/nylon holster. Pretty snug fit, works well. Rides with my Wave, Bit Kit, and Bit Extender.

    I know that struggle well
Problem is there are so many good lights that are cheaper than the knives I like...

Despite the ridiculous number of lights I own, I've pretty much settled on two for pocket carry: Sunwayman V11R + AA Adapter, or when I wanna go lighter (or don't expect to be out after dark) Maratac AAA on my tool keychain. I've always got bigger lights nearby if I need something more, in my truck, in my desk at work, in my EDC bag, or, heh, at home.

Superstorm Sandy was another matter. I was without power for over a week. EDC then was: Zebralight H501w, which was *always* in my pocket; and my Thrunite Scorpion v2 which was always close at hand, and went with me whenever I ventured outside at night. The Scorpion is way too big for EDC, but as a general purpose light, VERY flexible and VERY useful.

At one point some youngsters were skulking around the pitch-black neighborhood, apparently up to no good; I ran across them while walking One-Eyed Jack the Wonder Hound, finding them messing around by a car I knew didn't belong to any of them. While even Jack's growling didn't deter them at first, 650 lumens of light in their eyes stopped them in their tracks, and they decided to wander off in the opposite direction.

I'm battling with an issue of a flashlight being cheaper and brighter than the one I have.
Got it as a gift for someone, now I'm jealous :D as silly as it sounds.

Sounds like your older light may be perfect for keeping in the car, garage, basement, near electrical panel, with camping equipment...
Theres always an excuse and a good place to retire a light to.

There's even a forum giveaway or support thread.

Currently just carrying a cheap Photon knockoff but I've just ordered a Streamlight Microstrem C4 to replace it. In my bag I've got a 4Sevens Quark 123 Tactical.

    I carry a Zebralight SC600w.
Love it, 600lm for about 3 mins. And 400 or less for long time.
    Light and pocketable.
