4Sevens Quark 123x2. A nice, basic light that has always been there when I need it. Three levels of low/med and one of welding torch. I don't use the beacon, SOS or strobe.
Still carrying my Maratac AAA, Streamlight Nano, and a small coin cell light on my keychain. On my belt I have a Fenix P1D CE. However, I went to inspect a car tire during daylight and was disappointed with the lack of throw on my P1D. I'm looking around for something with better throw and power in the same size package (CR123 basically). Looking at the LumaPower Incendi V3+ but it looks like they are overdriving the circuit to get that huge 350 lumens with rechargables. From what I've read it gets too hot too quickly, and is floodier rather than a thrower. My Surefire E1B might fit the bill but it's too nice to carry outside! I love it and use it around the house. But I baby it. Or I could try my bigger Fenix PD30. But that's heavier. I'm on a rip to cut down on the weight of what I carry. Never thought I'd have a need for a flashlight in broad daylight but you live and learn. Yeah, I could have used a tire pressure guage but I didn't want to let out any air. Maybe I'm just lazy. Have not yet bought a 4Sevens light and I'm looking for a good excuse. I don't think the Quark 123 mini will be that much more powerful (210 lumens) than my P1D (135 lumens I think).
Use the E1B. The poor thing . . . That's like keeping a muscle car locked up in the garage, even on sunny weekends, because it's too nice to drive it on the non-sterile streets.
Gee...how did you know??? <just kidding> Need some way to attach a lanyard to the E1B before I use it. I have learned to lanyard everything to my belt that I don't want to lose. It works.
Only method I know would render the clip useless. Take a small bit of electrical tape, and tape shut the opening on the clip that allows you to carry the E1B clipped bezel-down in your pocket. Then put a split-ring around the other end of the clip, opposite the now shut opening. And then attach a lanyard through the ring. If you want to though you could just swap a traditional, short, bezel-up carry clip in its place. Then just put a small split-ring through the split-ring openings on the traditional clip.
My Fenix LD10 and EO5, the EO5 has the worn look from being on my keychain. I have the AD401 diffuser on the LD10 which also fits the Quark Mini123.
Thanks, those are good ideas. I thought Surefire sold a lanyard attachment for the E1B but perhaps not. I kind of like the clip the way it is but I usually carry lights on a lanyard. Anything clipped to my shirt pocket can too easily fall out. Any experience with the LumaPower Incendio V3+? I've read mixed reviews.
Afraid not. I never bought a LumaPower light due to the fact that nearly their entire line gets mixed reviews. They either work quite well, or break down at bad moments.
Good to know, thanks! Also looking for a belt sheath to fit the E1B. Surefire apparently doesn't make one.
Have a Fenix LD01 on it's way. I've been using a Maglite Solitaire for the last 5 years or so, so i'm expecting a bit of a improvement.
