I'm still in love with my Fenix PD30. Every time I switch to something else, I just switch back after a few days. I ADORE my Lx2, but it's a little big for my EDC and the PD30 fits right into the mag pocket in my 5.11s. It sits on my bedside table now for bumps in the night.
I EDC a 4Sevens Quark 123(squared)(w/lithium cells)(deep clip) clipped on my LA Policegear Operator Tac Pants.....a 4Sevens Preon Revo on my keychain(with a Niteize S-biner #1)....and a 4Sevens Preon 1 as a backup in my gear bag.
While these look to be the same flashlights as my last post in here, there is a difference. That is my, yes, MY PINK Preon 1. I gave the first to my girlfriend and it now resides on her keys, but in the course of my... ahem... testing... I fell in love with it and I had to get myself one before PFI ran out of the pink ones. I've also been carrying the Mini 123 around my neck lately with the lanyard, and it's very comfortable. Much lighter than a knife, and it's invisible under a hoodie or a looser shirt. That's a quick and easy beamshot. It's not the perfect white wall and it was just a quick picture taken with my digital camera (Kodak EasyShare C613, I have no idea if it's actually a good camera but it's simple enough for me). From the left, it is Preon 1, Preon 2, and Quark MiniX 123 XM-L Edition. I think that's a pretty good image of how they actually look, and you can see that the Mini has a slight greenish tint. Not a big deal for me, but it might be for some so beware the XM-L's. As I'm typing, it just occurs to me that I should have put fresh AAA's in the two Preon's but you can tell that the larger Preon is indeed brighter, as it should be. By the way, all 3 were on max output for this shot.
I just picked up a Preon 1. It appears to be EXACTLY what I have been looking for in an EDC flashlight. Pure awesome.
I love my birthday present. Ti 4sevens NW AA awesome keychain light. Also carry a warm mini CR2 around the neck with his friend from ESEE. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got a custom RA 170 Clicky with a narrow beam. Awesome light! This is the first RA I've ever had. The beam is perfect.
I was wondering when you were going to get around to joining the club. Congratulations! The 170 is a great light, and was my first as well. As much as I like my high CRI version, if I had to get rid of one of them, I would keep my 170. Look into the 17670 tubes while you can still get them. More than doubles the runtime w/ AWs.
thanks! yup feels good to be part of the club. i dont know what it is about these lights but they are awesome. i love the beam, perfect amount of throw and flood. and these lights just feel like they can take a beating. i will definitely look into the 17670 tubes. right now i have my hands full cause the mail lady just brought my HEST folder!
I recently acquired a Fenix LD15 and really enjoy it. I especially like the fact that it uses a standard AA battery.
