Ive just paid for a Pioneer Apprentice shipped from the US. Its a shame we dont have a great range of Alox SAKs here in the UK.

Since i carry my Atwood Superbug all the time i didnt see much point having a can/bottle opener SAK so decided to try something different with just a 2 blade Vic. Could have gotten a Secretary for £7 from 7dayshop, but i just love the big beefy build of the 93mm Alox units. This will be my 9th SAK in less than a year - to think i didnt even carry a blade a year ago and i figured my first knife would be the last one i bought, lol.

Im also considering cutting out some slots in the scales and epoxying some white tritium tags into it - hmm, time will tell if i feel that confident when it gets here, haha.

Still 'on the fence' about a bag. Was called back into work, Order Entry. Picked up a SS Sharpie and a North Face Jester for the time being. It carries 2 x Klean Kanteen s just fine.

Hehe, trust me, before long, you'll be getting quite a few more. Over this weekend, including five in a single collector's box, I walked away with 15 SAKs, a multitool, and a fixed blade. :D

River Rock 3AA Lantern/Flashlight was still on clearance at Target this week. I'd passed it up last week but since they were still there this morning, I went ahead and got one. Aluminum body with rubberized top and bottom caps. The packaging says there is a K2 Luxeon LED, but closer inspection of the LED shows it as a CREE though I don't know how that affects the output/runtimes as listed on the package, which list: 3 modes: High(16hrs), Low(35hrs), & Flash(35hrs), 85 lumens(3W) brightness on high. Included clip and carabiner can be attached to top or bottom of light for hanging, and top part with reflector can be removed to use lantern as a flashlight. There's a green LED that flashes every 5 seconds in Off mode for locating lantern in the dark, that I think is unnecessary. Not bad for $10.88, but I wouldn't have paid more than that for it... :)

Carson SN-50 Stuff-It microfiber lens cleaner. Just a small, clip-on neoprene bag with a microfiber cloth attached.

For $5 I never have to see through dirty sunglasses again!

Got the tip from someone else on the forum, and it was a great one.

My optometrist told me to use car wax to prevent you glasses from fogging in the winter. It really works well.

Virtually a complete redo of my EDC (thanks in part of the advice of this forum and funds from ebay sales). Here is what it was last December:

    LG Chocolate
    Kershaw Scallion
Nitecore EX10 with clip and bezel
    Big Skinny Wallet
    Citizen Ti EcoDrive watch
Sandisk Cruiser 8 GB USB Drive

and here is what it is now, with my iPhone 3GS being the last EDC gadget I bought:

A Retro 51 Tornado in Stainless Steel
    iPhone
    Delica 4
    Liteflux LF3XT
    same watch
    same wallet

    (not pictured: USB drive, same)

I cannot say enough good stuff about the iPhone, the Delica, and the Liteflux. I like the Nitecore a lot too, but the clip on the Nitecore did not work for me. I went through three of them in less than a year. The Liteflux's clip is a wire version, but it is attached more solidly.

Just ordered a Maxpdition Lunada, but don't know how long it is gonna take to get to me, in the M.E. from Maxpedition in the States.

It was whilst researching this purchase that I found this forum ;D

I had never heard of Atwood before this post, his stuff looks very cool and beautifully made, another one for the wish list . . .

Two new goodies. The first is a Colby Knot and Tool Rollo fob with a Timascus bead in the center. It is a really beautiful piece. If you haven't seen his work I highly reccomend his fobs and lanyards. The second is a Nitecore EZ CR2. It will be sent to Milky shortly for an emitter swap to clean up the beam.

Buddy of mine has the Swiss Tool and there is (or at least was) nothing to keep the handles down where you'd want them.

Yeah but they can be tightened by hammering on the divot to the point they they won't swing around on their own.
