My pocket EDC has been the same for years and is effectively my "core."

Smartphone. Essential for communication, information collection, navigation, weather, and reference.

Wallet always with plenty of cash, credit card, debit card, spare credit card if traveling, Fresnel lens, BandAid or two, DL, CHL, health insurance and auto insurance cards. Lately, Bogota picks and a TIHK clipped in the fold. I assure you this is not "over stuffed" as some like to discuss with wallets.

    Streamlight MicroStream

Kershaw Leek. I have two and alternate to use the model that contrasts least with the color pants I'm wearing.

    White, plain, handkerchief

    Fenix F-701

Auto key fob, house and office key suspended on a Tech Accessories P-7 clip.

When I can carry a handgun, I do. I used to do so more frequently, but I typically tuck my shirt in so that prevents concealment. I'm ok with it too.

Yeah, see your point. However, I was more thinking along the lines of patching up oneself. But I guess the point of not being capable of transporting sizeable enough trauma kit does answer my question

IPhone 7 plus and CRK Inkosi are always on me whether I'm lounging around the house or heading out somewhere. Everything else is only added when I'm leaving the house.

At the moment it's my wallet, phone, some form of cutting tool (most likely a multitool or SAK), keys with a pill fob and Advil, my Wilderness Tactical money belt and for the past couple weeks a Tilley airflow lm6. Not normally a big hat guy but this thing is the bee's knees, wondering if I can be dapper a and wear it still ;)

I forgot to mention my phone and wallet. I definitely don't go anywhere without those. Lots of great posts in here. It's interesting to see the variety yet similarity in a lot of our carries.

If I could only have one 'core' item, it'd be my phone (Moto G4)
95% of the time I also have a SAK and earphones.

If I'm leaving the house, I grab:
    Bandana
    Keys
    LM Juice CS4
    Pill Bottle
    Notebook
    Pen

    Not always in that order

    My core is pretty simple:

Wedding band, Traditional folder (Boy Scout knife or Wenger Soldier), Locking folder (currently reprofiled Spyderco Pacific Salt), LM Skeletool, Wallet, Smartphone, Keys w/Inova led light, Silver Zippo w/USMC emblem, Pocket sharpener, Self defense carry surprise.

When I first read the title, I thought "Training and Skills" And what I mean by that is the ability to do as much as I can with the fewest number of items. I don't like to carry a lot. I'm not a back pack kinda guy and even if I did carry say a "purse", I would want it to be small.

That said in my car I have a ton of stuff if needed, but on me my usual kit is

Wallet (credit cards, ID and $3-400 in cash)
    iPhone
Keys with a Fenix E05 light (nothing else EDC on it)
    Folding knife (ZT 0620CF)
Glock 43 and a spare mag

But after a recent event in my town with a lost student who died due to hypothermia (got lost in the woods) I''m tempted to move my Eotac striker to my key chain (its in my car).

I keep a flashlight on my keychain and a sebenza clipped to my pocket.

That's pretty much my entire edc anyways.

    My Core is:
    Skinth P2
    Galaxy S8
    Knife (rotates regularly)

Skinth carries my pen, flashligh and pry-multitool. Also, acts as a wallet.

Keys I keep in my backpack so, not quite core to me.

The heart of my EDC can vary depending on the definition. If I were to distill my EDC to a single item, it would probably be a stockman pattern slipjoint. I find the sheepsfoot blade indispensable for day to day tasks, and the extra blades are a nice bonus.

I have recently retired my cheapo Stanley stockman because it refuses to be lost and I'm tired of having an ugly, mediocre knife as my EDC blade. My previous stockmans usually got lost and replaced about once a year, but this knife is too ugly to go away.

This has thrown my EDC off kilter for the first time in ages. Currently I am carrying a Case slimline trapper as my main blade with a tiny buck Deuce just because it has a sheepsfoot blade.

The little slimline trapper is a joy. While the Stanley stockman was always sort of an unpleasant thing to behold, the Case knife is a thing of beauty. It's beautifully polished, and the blade is snappy instead of mushy. I actually enjoy using this knife, wheras the Stanley was just something I tolerated.

This EDC rotation is not set in stone; I will probably swap out the deuce for a nicer stockman, but for the moment this is a welcome upgrade to what I had before.

As a minimum, "core," for stepping foot off my property, just a knife and a lighter. I've been carrying a lighter (it helped that I started smoking at 12 so I always had a reason for one) and a knife every day since I was in junior high (LOOOOOOONG time ago). In my hillbilly high school you didn't get in trouble for having a knife so most of us had them.

Now for what I consider my "regular" minimum:

    1. Knife
    2. Lighter
    3. Keys - I keep a SAK Tinker on my keychain at all times (other things I rotate on or off the keychain based on how irritating they will be that day)
    4. Smartphone
    5. Flashlight
    6. Handgun

My 'core' always on me, even when I sleep is

No rotation for me, these 3 day in and day out.

A few months ago I also picked up my first watch, pretty much ever, which I also wear when I sleep

When I leave the house it looks more like this plus the watch and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
