Is there something that you have sewn, filed, stitched, ground, drilled, welded, hammered or what ever to create your unique piece of EDC? My humble contribution is a sort of "pocket protector” that I think I posted a while back. Anyway, this was inspired by memories of those plastic iconic symbols of the school geeks. Remember those guys? The ones who always carried lots of pens and pencils (and slide rules!)in their shirt pockets? Socially inept, dressed funny, the butts of lots of jokes. They were also the ones who went on to become dot com millionaires and retire at 30………. Ah, well.......... Had some scrap leather, a boot clip that I got years ago and never found a use for, and a weekend with nothing much else to do, so:……… Result will hold 3 or 4 pens/pencils, a box cutter (my current EDC blade of choice) and clips pretty conveniently to the inside of a bag or pack. Best part is that everything stays together when I switch bags. So: what have you created lately?
Coin pouch! I love this thing! http://edcforums.com/threads/coin-change-wallet.89767/ And of course, my beads. In fact here is a recent, from scratch build pictorial. Here is the raw stock. 3/4 round stock aluminum. Drawing out the brim line for the helmet. Here is a good pic of the aluminum splinters that are created. Painful. Here we have the base of the Villain and the drawing for the top of the helmet with the wing portion. Beginning to cut away the excess. Now we start to see some formation. Really rough pic of the Villain and helmet shape. This is a really cool pic. Raw. After some minor flapper wheel. Added the lanyard hole too. Here is the finished piece. High polish. Wing detail. I still stepped the wing a bit. I think they are the highlight of the piece.
Here's a coin pouch I made I also made this suspension clip for my SAK I also made the phone case that's in this picture. It's the leather thing on the bottom.
Omg,I just finished this and I am super happy so fulfilled my inner geek The keyboard wallet mini it is a simple wallet that is thin functional strong and looks freeking AWSOME I love it
I had the wire from something else. It's a little heavier than a coat hanger. I cut and bent it. And then flattened the end with a hammer and drilled the hole.
Heres several things I've made from material I had laying around. EDC Coat/Bag/Gloves/Hat Hanger made from 80/20 that I got for free from a dumpster. An adjustable mechanical belt buckle modeled after a Roland Iten Buckle costing $16,000-$30,000 Aluminum & brass will do fine for me...no need for white gold and titanium..then again Ti would be nice! Aluminum wallet and Tritium 10-Key Holder. These have both worked out so much better than I had expected. After Jeff Forbush Cerakoted the Tritium key holder and Tritium Sphere Aluminum Wallet Lathe stands for my 9X20 and 11X27. The sheet metal cabinets that came it were a complete joke! Both are solid now and have homemade adjustable height feet. The 9X20 has a stainless steel top with a relief to catch the chips. I found the SS top in a dumpster, It was originally a bank teller or "stop-n-rob" counter top and the relief was where you pass the money through. There was a nice big piece or bulletproof glass still attached! SCORE! The stainless drawer fronts were from the sides holding the bulletproof frame in place. The stand for the 11X27 was made partly from the frame jig from the '78 Chevette I sold. The rest was bought new from the metal yard in the next town. The Top is 1/2" Plate steel with 8 large bolts holding it in place. Heres a small swivel lever I made for my engine hoist. It allows MUCH better fine adjustment over the stick with the slot in the end. A Droid X aluminum phone case with flashlight mount and stabilizer handle. Here a dog I made from a block of aluminum for my Grandparents Roughed out the general shape on the mill and finished the rest by hand with files. A Bronze Mini McGizmo LS20 Keychain Fob Some brass skulls I made from scrap A bird skull from brass I made for a good friend Copper easy skull A few aluminum beads Some tritium fobs A Kawasaki 100cc "Board-Track Racer" frame I made. Never finished and sold it. Good learning projects!
Some belt pouches I made from nylon belts. Use the one on the left to carry my surefire or ZT. Use the one on the left to carry pens (If I'm wearing a T shirt) and/or small screw drivers
