The weapon on my nightstand is the pistol that I just took off.

I have a single shot .20ga by the front door for a snake gun but everything else, except for my carry pistol, stays locked up in the safe.

For the past 27 years, my bedroom/home defense pistol was my Ruger P89. It was ugly and heavy, so I just relegated it to home defense. Since my wife just passed away, and with all that's going on in the US, I figured it was time to upgrade. So I went to Cabelas to trade it in with the intent of getting something like a Springfield XDM. Well, you know selection is a bit limited these days and there wasn't one available. So I instead went with this Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0 with 5" barrel. I added a TLR4 with laser sight to it. Now it's my bedroom/home defense gun, along with a shotty of course.

Too bad ammo is so expensive and limited, so I haven't had the chance to train with it yet. I'm saving what I have for home defense.

What model Walther is that? Sitting here in the hospital waiting room trying to identify it.

Walther .22, I knew a cop that carried one of those off duty years ago.

This is an old picture, but I’ve never felt the need to change a good thing. I have other options but this handgun and knife combo have been my go to for home defense for years (G17 2005, Endura 2007) I have upgraded to an led light and a new shoulder bag (although the old, much more worn bag is still around).

Colt Python 357 and a Walther PPKS .380. And if worse comes to worse, a Mini 14 with four 30 round magazines. If I'm going down, I'm going down returning fire.

We keep an MPX SBR w/form 1 suppressor in a drawer bedside. It’s more the wife’s for if I’m not home. When I retire for the evening my sidearm is on my nightstand.

Trying to get an AR pistol for the past 7 months and have been unsuccessful. They're usually sold out. Maybe I'll get lucky. I would just sling it over the bed post so that it's ready to rock.

Yeah. Seem like even getting your hands on cheap SA 22lr revolvers is hard to do lately.

Then there's the whole ammo issue.

And wouldn't you know it? After posting this I finally get lucky and score an AR pistol from PSA. Now just waiting for it to get shipped to my FFL. Getting the backup sights, and Holosun optic this week to kit it out. Should make a fine addition to my bedside gun.

Ye olde Mossberg 500 with a collapsible stock and an 18" barrel, I call it my "Anti Sonofab*tch machine." I live in a pretty safe area and have yet to actually use it to investigate a 'bump in the night' because there just aren't many bumps. Definitely needs a light added to it. There's also a solid oak billy club and a sig pistol near by if the need arises as well.
