Hi guys! Im thinking of purchasing a bag for my FAK. Im currently taking First aid classes under redcross here in the philippines and i was thinking of getting an awesome container to carry all my gear in..

im deciding between FR1 or the beefy..

i know the fr1 pouch is really made for first aid purposes...
i like that it can work with a carry strap and has an awesome layout of organizers inside and outside. and the grab handle looks better.. and seems really made to be brought around with a pack or stand alone..

the maxpedition beefy is also almost the same size (if i did my research right)..
what i like that it feels more spacious than the FR1 pouch.. i dont know how id organize it though since id carry some liquids in my first aid kit and all of the big elastic straps are oriented sideways so i have a concern that it will spill..

please give me your thoughts and what i should get and many reasons and examples and pictures if possible.. especially of a neatly organized FAK using the FR1 AND/OR the BEEFY organizer!

    THANKS

I think the fr 1 is better for a fak with bigger items, the beefy is a nice organizer but I think the fr 1 is a better choice

I actually own both pouches (FR-1 and Beefy) and I really love them both. The Beefy seems a lot more roomy than the FR-1. The FR-1 was designed as a FAK pouch where the Beefy was designed as an (pocket) organizer. You really can't go wrong with either of them, but if I had to choose...I would go with the FR-1 for a FAK.
Quality is top-notch and my FR-1 is probably the best...in terms of quality...out of all of the pouches I own. :)

I made my FR-1 into a survival-kit but it's even better suited for a FAK IMO. Hope that helps...

I have had an FR-1 and it is a great FAK pouch. I made the mistake of selling mine and getting a cheap Condor pouch. STUPID STUPID STUPID!

I use the beefy for mine, and was gifted the fr1 from my dad. I really really really want to use the fr1 for my fak but I just can't seem to make it work.

    Made a decision yet???

Just wanted to suggest two that you may not have seen/considered...

Condor rip-away EMT pouch and Vanquest's new FAT packs would both serve this purpose very well...

I have the FR-1 bag for my fak in the car and I love it. I've used it multiple times and everything is easy to access so it works great for me.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS. I forgot to post that I've purchased an FR-1 pouch long ago! SO FAR SO GOOD. It's attached to my 5.11 MOAB10 which is my school bag.

I like the look of that one and the Lite version. I also like the add-on Maxped surgical glove pouch

It's been working out very well for my wife and my kids.

That's the kit we keep in the trunk of the car that we are in most often for trips.

I started with the FR-1 but upgraded to two Maxpedition F.I.G.H.T. organizers. One in the car. One it the flight bag. The FR-1 stays in my "beach bag".

    FR-1.
Compared to the Beefy, it has much more variety of loop size/shape/position meaning that you can keep all the variously sized/shaped/positioned things in a FAK in there really well.

I actually ordered the Condor Rip-Away pouch in red. I'll have to try to remember to let you know how I like it once it gets here.

Is it odd that I'm quoting myself?
