Okay, we all post pics of our knives that we're obsessed over. But what knife do you really carry? I see pic after pic of pristine knives, with carry a scuff or scratch on the blade, and obviously has never seen much if any use at all. Especially the coated blades that look like the day they were shipped. Soooo, all these safe queens and cult worship objects, what is really in your pocket day in day out?
Every pic I post is what I carry that day. You don't see scratches because of the huge rotation. There are plenty to choose from.
Emerson mini CQC 15, two years. I'll put up a pic of my Military, 3years, in another post later after work.
Swiss Army Super Tinker and a Buck 110. I've carried these two for more years than I can remember, and never felt under tooled.
Spyderco Delica 4 or Ganzo 729(I think) the one made like a mini griptilian. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was carrying a ZT 0456 until i bent the crap out of the clip one to many times and needed to replace it with a new one. I have been carrying a Hinderer Half Track since. I dont have a whole lot of use for them during the day but when i need them they are used just like a 25, 50, 100 dollar and up knife. I may take a little more care while using it but they do get used all the same. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
Oddly enough, I've been asked on occasion what I've been cutting with all my knives, since I very seldom post a picture of anything pristine. Quite often when I do take a picture of one, it just came out of my pocket and still has part of whatever I cut last smeared on it. Most of my knives look like the morning after Armegeddon.
My absolute don't-leave-home-without-it knife is a Gerber EZ Out. I have others that I try to rotate into some sort of menial service around the farm, but the Gerber is King
Kershaw Chill. I keep coming back to it after trying other knives. Light weight but with a long enough blade and a useful blade shape.
Mini griptilian, SAK Mechanic and Rambler. Plus an Olight i3e. Or Skeletool, Rambler and Olight H1R. Just depends on my days type of work load. Rarely does it vary much from that.
Mini Grip with sheeps foot or older 2" Gerber or an old Boy Scout knife I found at a pawn Too fancy / expensive and I won't use it.
EDC for over a year, 22+ hrs/day used pretty much every for minor take, nothing heavy duty. Zero Tolerance 0301 bought used with the scratches.
I work in I.T. I run cables, create patch cables, build machines, and troubleshoot software/hardware. My knives get used a lot. I have a small collection of 18 or so EDC folders. I rotate through them often. I also have a side business sharpening knives (and cleaning them). So my knives are kept clean and sharp.
My EDC for the past 3 years is an automatic Schrade Extreme Survival. Gets plenty of use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I really carry a Case slipjoint of some variety. Sometimes a GEC or Queen. Vic Alox Mini Champ on my keyring. I quit taking knife pictures a couple of years ago, so on the off chance I do post a photo, it's probably from when the knife was new. Photos don't age or show wear. Doesn't mean I am lying when I show the pic. I am carrying that knife, it just may or may not look like that now.
I change my carry at least weekly; more recently also in mid-week. But no matter what changes, I almost always have: > either a LM Blast OR a SAK Huntsman OR a SAK Fieldmaster > PLUS a LM Squirt PS4 The variables are generally a primary and a complementary. Usually the primary is a PE folder in a 3" blade range; the complementary one is usually a SE folder from Spyderco in the Ladybug size range. I just like have both a PE and a SE on me at all times!
