So the title's pretty straight to the point. What do you do when you can't sleep? For me, it's 1:30 AM on a Sunday and I've been tossing and turning for 2 hours now, so I decided to pass time by watching Game of Thrones. What about you, my fellow EDCites, how do you pass time during those sleepless nights?

Browse EDCF and/or drink another beer. Worrying about getting enough sleep usually keeps me up even later.

Can't play half the games I've got because they are turn based, and then the "Just one more turn" kicks in. :p

I take one of my knives and flick them open to lull myself to sleep. Can't tell you how many times I got kicked out of bed by my girl because of that

Insomniac here. I don't sleep easily unless I'm exhausted after 30+ hours up... even then I only sleep 4 to 6 hours tops... :censored::banghead::cry:

I kick around on the net, usually EDCF, watch a DVD, listen to the radio.... Or all of those at the same time, or a combo of them depending on how fast my mind is running...

If its bad enough, I go to the shop and work on something, or in the summer I go racing for a drive or bike ride, and enjoy the empty roads..

If I give up on trying to sleep, I read a book. From what I hear, most people it seems can start to read when tired and get tireder... I wake up more/get more alert etc.

Lay in bed with headphones on...with tv or music, and surf the forums on my iPad.

Wife likes to have me close, even though I offer to go in the other room...

I usually read in bed with a head lamp. If my book is too excepting, I'll trade it out for something boring and dense... Middlemarch seems to do the trick. If I can't sleep because I'm worried, I usually smoke cigarettes and pace in the garage. Not recommended, though.

I read. Most times it'll do the trick. Other times, the result of late night reading is staying up later than I need to be.

Do something boring I'd rather not do, like clean house or listen to podcasts/lectures. Or read something very dry.

Worrying about not getting enough sleep never accomplishes anything.

An over the counter decongestant such as Actifed, combined with an antihistamine helps.

I wake my wife up, tell her I love her, give her a back massage... hopefully I get a little something in return, which usually sends me off to sleep ;)

Read a long, boring book. Does the job within a few pages.

Funny this should be mentioned now as I'm going through one of my can't sleep phases. Rather than disturb my wife by tossing and turning and taking my frustration out on the pillow I get up and usually watch a movie on my 'puter.
