AMEN BRUDA! I don't even know how much cord I've accumulated (probably more than 3k feet), and had to buy extra storage just to store all the stuff. Here's something Gander_Man over at CPF designed that I like to call the JFBF. A wrist lanyard.
There are two parachord "masters" that I know of from CPF, and we're lucky to have them both here: stormdrane & ghostrider :notworthy: Here's my work. My thing was to use chord locks to end my lanyards (instead of melting). That way, if you had to unravel your lanyard, you would also have a chord lock to use. I haven't done much since those, but I still enjoy looking at everyone's creations. There's something special about knotwork that links us back to earlier times. Dan
Black and olive drab 4-strand plait neck lanyard, type I OD green paracord whipping, and four leads for attachments.
I'd be happy to. I have bothe black and gray. Are you looking for anything specific like decrative knots? You can contact me via PM.
Ok, i'm LOST! i did a small fob with the square knot: But i have no clue as how to "finish it" or "close it" or have an end knot... I have read the 2 end knots tutorial in SOSAK: http://www.sosakonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=90&Itemid=35 with this one, i get completly lost http://www.sosakonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=85&Itemid=35 with this other one, the end result is terrible... it's like a big mess of cord at the end, far different from the picture of the site. Oh, and, if you see these examples from Stormdrane, you can see that he finish the fob with a loop with one cord of one color: How he does that? and where does the other 3 cords go? AAAAAAA i'm going insane!!
Ok, thanks to Stormage i managed! I can't wait to get out of work to go make another! this is insane.
I always have to look up the finishing knots up on bondoongleman... and I always end up just burning the ends...
To end the knot, you tuck the each loose end under the previous cord that you just weaved. Shoot! I'm not sure if that makes any sense.
The Book of Decorative Knots by Peter Owen has a lot of good diagrams. I used it this morning to help me figure out how to make this 5-strand plait neck lanyard for my dad(navy blue/orange = War Eagle!). I have a few of Jeff's (Widgnwhacker) lanyards and he does such an awesome job on them I felt some inspiration to give it a try.
Where does one find type 1 paracord? I hadn't heard of it before reading this thread. I googled it, but keep coming up with 550, which I understand is type 2.
I've been using the Chinese button knot lately Chinese Button Knot I like the sliding knot from this page, allows for one lanyard to be used many ways with a little thought put into it. I use this knot as it seems easier for me to make than the lanyard knot, although I found another button knot tutorial that displayed the lanyard knot instructions. Basically they are the same I guess, just depends which name you go by. The lanyard knot is made with two ends and the button knot from the stellaceleste site uses one strand. BTW, anyone ever heard of "GS Hypc Cement"? Suggested on their site for glueing ends. When is lighthound going to update their "using epoxy" to the lanyard making pages?. I am most curoius about using epoxies (besides superglue with does not always leave favorable results). And here's my last bracelet in desert camo. been wearing it alot. I frget thats its on, even gets wet cause I go to wash up and forget its there. Haven't had that happen to often, meaning I find it comfortable. I'm going to check into that Peter Owens book Stormdrabne O0
I just made this black/toxic green paracord dog leash. I figure it's EDC gear if ya got a dawg and take it for a daily walk. It took about 40 feet of paracord using the diamond braid. I didn't have a snap hook, so I took one off an old chain wallet that I'd never used. Now, if I only had a dawg...(my dawg had to be put down a few years ago, she had a good run, 17.5 years is up there for a dawg). I can't have one since I'm living with my folks.
