Not fancy like all the awesome knots shown here but I like to show it anyway. I created a paracord loop as small as possible (ends melted inclusive burned fingertips) to prevent a twisting of the kydex sheath because there is one hole on top only. Works great. And I covered the chain with paracord inclusive keeping the "break point" of the chain so no risk of strangling myself. Paracord feels more comfortable on the skin than the cold chain for me.
Long time since I last made myself a monkey fist, so I made this one with a 1 1/8" steel ball and a nice brass snap hook. paracord monkey fist by
ended up breaking my vehicle key today. the area where the split ring attaches to broke off. any ideas on how to make a paracord( most likely a micro cord) wrap that won't interfere with the key in the ignition but still allows to attach it to a split ring
Cut/sand a slight groove on each side of the rubber/plastic key grip, wide enough to tie a Turk's head knot/Spanish ring knot variation around the key (the groove helps it stay in place), and you can add a small split ring to the knot work to attach it back to your keyring/keychain. The broken top bits could be cut off and sanded flat/smooth.
finishing off knots My go-to methods of finishing a 4 strand project. Cut the ends close and hide them in the knot - or leave the ends alone or comb them out in a fringe. All knots shown started with 2 strands of 3' long cord. Top 2 knots diamond/herringbone tutorial Bottom knots crown and wall tutorial
Four strand crown knot variations By changing the initial layout of the two cords and by crowning to the left, to the right, or alternating left and right you can alter the appearance of your knotting. Finish with single/double footrope knot
Locked footrope/diamond knot The footrope/diamond knot is attractive but can loosen when handled, especially with synthetic slippery cordage. The locking technique shown in the tutorial eliminates this problem locked footrope knot tutorial
locked footrope/diamond knot -part two As I mentioned in the Part one https://www.edcforums.com/posts/2692501/save-inline the four strand footrope knot is an attractive ending knot for a project. Under heavy use, the knot can collapse. The alternate method shown here allows the diamond to keep its shape after heavy handling. locked footrope knot part 2 tutorial
As an experiment I used both the over two crown knot and the under two wall knot https://www.edcforums.com/threads/locked-footrope-diamond-knot.140340/ https://www.edcforums.com/forums/do-it-yourself-gear-modifications.113/ to make this locked footrpe/diamond knot. A bit of overkill but it is extremely difficult to untie.
started working on a belt. going to be adding a few other things to it once the main belt is complete. so far I have 300 meters of paracord worked in and available to finish the belt
Woggle I had no orange cord and my grand-nephew needed a woggle (ASAP) for his cub scout uniform. I twisted some orange knitting yarn together to make a cord for a quick fix.
