I typically carry my LC9 with gold dots. In the winter when clothes conceal more or if I open carry its the 1911 with 230 grain hollow points, Federals right now.

My movie memory failed me. I recalled an early scene in Dr. No in which Bond is admonished for being shot and hospitalized after his .32 Beretta jammed on him. I did a bit of research and found that was instead made to carry the PPK 7 in .32 (7.65mm).. I'd misplaced my thoughts and believed he'd instead been given a .380 (9mm Short or Kurz or 9x17mm). From that point on, I always thought his Walter was a .380. I've followed Bond movie for decades under this assumption.

This was an incongruity from the books - Bond carried a Beretta 418 in .25 ACP (which was a gift from M, then he chides him for carrying it?). The PPK issued in Dr. No was in .32 ACP or 7.65mm.In the movie Bond is shown handing over what appears to be a Beretta 1934, which would have been in .380 ACP. And the issue had nothing to do with caliber, it was about Bond's gun getting stuck while attempting to draw with a suppressor attached (in the movie M states it was a jam, which made more sense). Fleming knew close to nothing about firearms when writing the books and it showed in many places; he was corrected by Jeffrey Boothroyd, a gun enthusiast in Britain who fed him ideas to make the writings more realistic. Fleming thought that an ideal gun for a secret agent was one that could be completely hidden in any circumstance and the .25's at the time met that requirement (Fleming himself carried a .25 given to him by his boss during WWII when on assignment).

    Sorry, geek mode off.

Have carried a 9mm for years and years. Recently, beginning of the year, switched to 45acp. Either that with my 30s or 380acp with my lcp.

.45 winchester white box 230 grain hollow points. They feed reliably and aren't terribly expensive for hollow points. Plus they seem to always be in stock at Wally World.

Xds 45 or glock 22 with winchester pdx1 in their respected calibers. Occasionally it the glock 19 or LCRx with Hornady critical defense

30 years ago I invested in the 9mm platform for CCW. I am not a hobbiest and I consider simplification to be a bonus in most circumstances.

    Public CCW: 9mm
    At home: 44 special

    .380 and/or 9mm

It's hot down in Florida, and on the hotter days, it really is difficult to conceal much more than a small .380.
