I EDC on my person the same two lights everyday and everywhere. Couldn't come up with a third one.

    Main light: Zebralight H51w

    Backup/loaner light: Fenix E05

I last posted in this thread in 2010. Here in Late Nov 2011 I no longer drive a truck (but looking hard for local or regional work!).

My Fenix P2D Q5 is STILL my primary EDC. Still think it has the greatest UI ever! Will be the last light to leave.
Second place my neutral tint EagleTac P10C2. Med/High twist with forward tail. Second last light to leave.
And my Zebralight H30. Great tint! Good UI. God low. Great reading medium. BRIGHT high.

I have DOZENS of other lights. Many are quite good like the LumaPower lights. Some great higher end "tactical" lights etc.

But those three are the ones.

I only have one EDC flashlight. It's the Klarus Mi X5. Smallest/brightest flashlight I could find at the time that I bought it and I'm very happy with it. Takes AAAA batteries which are difficult to find in the store but easy to find online and inexpensive.

Bought a Quark high CRI Mini AA about a week ago. Now I have 3 lights.

The Fenix E05 has been replaced by the Maratac AAA.

    1. HDS Clicky
    2. Surefire E1b
    3. Fenix E15

The clicky has been winning so far. The E15 is slowly turning into a CR123a spare carrier.

Much the same as the earlier, but an Arc6 (modded with a neutral XP-G) has been getting the most pocket time lately. Been using a Sunwayman V10A with a neutral XP-G as well, but the Arc6 is a favorite:

David, what clip do you have on the QMAA? I have an old LED Lenser clip on mine, but yours looks a little more durable.

What are your impressions of the Maratac AAA as opposed to the E05?

I bought the Maratac AAA long before I bought the E05. I was carrying it in my wallet, and was always looking for ways to cut down on size and weight. I bought E05 for two reasons:

    1. It is shorter than the Maratac AAA.

    2. It has a more useful floody beam.

I went back to the Maratac because:

    1. It has 3 modes. The single mode on the E05 is too bright for some tasks and too dim for other tasks.

    2. I put DC-Fix diffuser on the Maratac AAA to smooth out the beam. The beam profile is now almost as good as the E05.

    3. I no longer carry it in the wallet. So size doesn't matter as much anymore.

I have a Peak Versuvius with a momentary switch on it. It's my go to light. For fun, I have a Mac's Customs XM-L EDC in titanium.

Interesting, I'd think the Peak would be "For fun" and Mac for practical use ?

I can understand your view. But for me, the small rom factor and infinite variability of the QTC makes the Versuvius my ideal flashlight.

Sorry. Darn iPhone. "Form" is the word I meant to put down.
Yeah, it's nice and floody. I'm waiting on the SS version.

You like the brass? Maybe I should pick one up over the SS version. I owned a brass Volcan, and it really dint do it for me. Maybe I should give brass another chance.

Does look beautiful. You are tempting me to buy that brass Versuvius.
