The largest folder I have is a Smith & Wesson SWAT MILLENIUM that I bought when I first started with knives; has a combo blade. Its pretty heavy; such that I rarely carry it with me. I'll probably end up dedicating it to the car bag in the trunk.

I love folders that have over a 4" long blade. I don't carry anything but my knife in my right front pocket so the size and weight really doesn't bother me. I usually have my sak on a tec dangler in my left front pocket to do the more precise cutting chores. As an automotive mechanic I like being able to scissor cut hoses with my large folders. Also with my XL hands most knives under 3.5" just are not very comfortable for me. The majority of my collection is in the 3.75" to 4.25" range. Here are my over 4" folders.

3 Pohl Force two alphas and a foxtrot 4.5"
    Tops CQT magnum 711 4.4"
    Brous Division 4.25"
    Bad Blood Persian? 4.25"
    Spyderco Resilience 4.1"
    Benchmade Bedlam 4.1"
    Fox Col Moschin 4.25"
    Emerson Super Commander 4.1"
    Kizer ki5404a2 4.25"
    Cold Steel voyagers 5.5"
    Cold Steel Recon 1 5.5"
    Cold Steel Hold out 6"[IMG]

I've been carrying one of those lately myself. Weird, because I don't much care for metal handles in general or titanium framelocks in particular, yet I find myself pulling that thing out to cut things that a much smaller knife could handle with ease.

I carry a Gerber Icon Tanto serrated every day.
    Blade 4.25"
    Overall 9.55.
    4.68 oz

I've carried it for years. It's light for it's size and strong. Love that knife.

Before that I carried a K-Bar zombie mule serrated for a few years.
    Blade 3-7/8th"
    Overall 9-1/8th"
    Weight: .5lbs

It's much 'heftier' but you could stab a charging rhino in the face and your wrist would break before that thing would. as you can see it weighed roughly twice what the Gerber does and was actually a bit shorter. (But had greater girth.)

Both were good knives. I went for the lighter one, as I love the style. The tanto blade with partial serration and all and .. well it weighed half as much for EDC.

My biggest folder is the Spyderco Pacific Salt, but I don't (work/office) EDC it.
The biggest folder to ever enter rotation is the Kizer Gemini.
The largest knife in regular rotation is the small Sebenza.
Even the small Sebenza is too large for my needs, but it's the most comfortable in pocket.

Off work, which usually means outdoors, I regularly carry a PM2.

I normally keep my carry folders 4" or less (app 100mm). The largest folder I have is a Cold Steel Voyager clip point XL, with a blade of 5.5" (app 140mm). Generally, I find just over 3" (76mm) to cover most things. I am not a knife fighter by any stretch (I carry a handgun and pepper spray).

3 inches, all Esee Zancudos. AUS 8, D2, and carbon fiber. State law prohibits anything longer...

By length it would be the Spyderco Military or Szabo. But by weight it would probably be the Medford Praetorian or Dalibor Castor. I think a blade length of 4.5" would be my personal maximum.

I have a Zancudo, but rarely carry it except for around the house and backyard. The knife laws in my state are pretty much up to the officer involved, so little explainable blades are better. Most of my blades are 2.6 inches or shorter. I mostly carry SAK's and smaller spydercos as well as a Stockman and a Sodbuster.

I like the Zancudos slot too, especially in D2 steel. I just picked up a dragonfly in VG10 and it's very impressive and legal even in Boston proper. The limit in the rest of Massachusetts is 3 inches. Other than SAKs of which I have several, what would you suggest in the less than 2 1/2 inch range?

I don't mean to hijack the thread though....Maybe I'll start a new one with this question. Thanks

ZT 456 3.25" blade. State law prohibits the concealment of any knife with a blade longer than 3.5".
