1. Alox Awl. 2. Bottle opener/screwdriver. 3. Inline Philips driver. 4. Scissors. 5. Small/Pruner/Electrician blade. Least favorite...Fish scaler.
Not something I use very often, but the fish scaler does have a ruler scribed on it, and it occasionally comes in handy as a probe for something you can't or don't want to touch. I've also used it as a field expedient pickle fork (after washing off the nasties, of course ) or other food items when appropriate. I even picked a simple lock with it. The only thing I will NEVER, EVER use it for is scaling fish. Did once. Learned lesson.
In the order I use them: 1. Blade 2. Toothpick 3. Bottle opener (as a flat-blade screwdriver) 4. Corkscrew (although getting less use now cheaper wine bottles are screw top!) 5. Tweezers Never used the awl (not folded out in the photo) as it feels unstable. I actually replaced my faithful old Victorinox Economy as EDC with the Victorinox Camper (or 'Camping' as it is known in the Netherlands) becuase it has a toothpick. Age is allowing my teeth to wander a bit, so eating bacon can be a prolonged experience and not every restaurant provides toothpicks. I changed the scales for black ones after the red ones warped from heat!
Scissors Blade Nail file Bottle Opener (for flat head screwdriver, and tbh mostly for prying) Phillips driver, bottle opener thing on managers and the like.
Large blade, small blade, can opener, scissors and cap lifter/screwdriver. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
1. Blade 2. Combo tool (Bantam/84/91 mm version) 3. Alox awl 4. Pry bar ("bottle opener/flat head driver") 5. Scissors I wish more SAKs came with the combo tool instead of the can opener, not only is it a more versatile tool but it also opens cans almost as well as the can opener once you got the technique down. That way I would still have the screwdriver/pry bar and another tool for prying/scraping/screwing etc. I just used my alox Bantam (that I sometimes carry as my only knife for EDC when in school) to take apart my keyboard to clean it, the combo tool worked perfectly for this purpose.
File Magnifying glass Corkscrew Cap lifter/screwdriver Can Opener/screwdriver Small blade would have come in sixth
Mine would be 1. Alox Awl. Somehow it manages to be the most used tool for me. Always handy for those odd jobs that come up often 2. Toothpick. I have a wire retainer behind my lower teeth and it comes handy when I'm eating on the go 3. Alox main blade. I like that is a bit ticker than the celidor ones and it is very people friendly 4. Cap lifter/screwdriver/pry bar combo tool 5. Can opener/screwdriver combo tool Pioneer - Classic make a very useful combination for me
1. 91mm style knife blade 2. Alox style awl 3. Sheepsfoot electrician blade 4. 91mm style large cap lifter 5. Scissors
1. Main blade 2. Scissors 3. 6 mm flathead/ Bottle opener/ Wire stripper 4. File/ Nail cleaner 5. 3mm driver/ Can opener Bonus. Normal scales w/ toothpick and tweezers
1 Blade 2 Toothpick 3 Scissors 4 Saw 5 small blade (love the little sheepsfoot on the electrician) My perfect blade would be an Electrician plus with scissors, or a farmer with scissors I will keep carrying my stayglow huntsman though, although the Alox SAKs are calling me again
My 5 favourite SAK tools are: 1. Metal saw/file 2. Magnifying glass 3. Combo tool 4. Inline phillips 5. Scissors
