    My 5 are

    1. Knife - Gotta have it
    2. Scissors - Gotta have em. People friendly. Good for precise cutting in hand. Grooming.
    3. Awl - The awl is like a strong tip of a knife. I use the awl to preserve my knife's edge. It opens boxes, mail, lightly prys things, strikes firesteel, carves wood, and stabs holes. It can replace the bottle opener too. Bottles are really easy to open without an opener.
    4. Combo Tool (flat head, can opener, bottle opener) - screws, beer, tuna
    5. Phillips - screws. Could possibly replace the need for an awl?

    Honorable mention -
Magnifying glass - Fun. emergency fire? I have bad vision so I like this feature.

The 4 tools on the Soldier/Pioneer SAK + Phillips screw driver.
Looks like I will need to spring for a custom to get that combo together though!

I agree with your five. I like the combo as it obviates two separate tools.
I wish there was a Bantam in 93mm so you have minimal thickness but only the combo tool and the beefier blade.

The orange peeler on a Minichamp is a useful package opener.

    1. 93mm blade: Perfect EDC size
    2. Cap lifter: Mostly for the large flathead driver, which is also very good for removing ice and snow from ski bindings
    3. Can opener: Again, mostly for the driver. Also, the sharp edge works as a pretty good scraping tool.
    4. Scissors: Cutting threads, trimming fingernails etc.
    5. Wood saw: Makes a small knife do large jobs. I do not want one on my EDC SAK, but really appreciate the ones on my full size Swiss Tool and Rucksack.

    1. Main Blade
    2. Saw
    3. Scissors
    4. Awl
    5. Can Opener/Screwdriver

If only the Farmer had scissors it would be perfect.

    • Scissors; more versatile than a blade, does most things better, and I prefer seperate dedicated knife.
    • Can opener; small driver is fair, opens cans great, makes a good scraper too.
    • Awl(like on the Alox knives); Fantastic pick, scraper, marking knife/hole starter..
    • Flat driver/bottle opener; used for a pry bar more than anything else
    • Saw; self explanatory :p

That right there built on a blue or brown Alox Farmer is my perfect custom. Someday I'll get around to building it...

I wonder if I'll be the only one to Not list a blade... :)

    1. Drop point Knife
    2. Soldier Style Awl
    3. Saw
    4. Small Scissors
    5. Combo Tool more than likely

Bassicly I think a Farmer with the saw reversed for easy access of the knife, the last layer with small scissors, a combo tool and a bale rather then the lanyard attachment that digs into your hand would be a sweet tool.

The 84mm Golfer (a few different variations; mine is the early 1980s model, w/o long-nail file) is ALMOST my perfect pocket SAK with all my favorite tools:

    1. Main blade (84 mm)
    2. Scissors
    3. Combo Tool - can opener/bottle opener/screwdriver/wire stripper
    4. Corkscrew
    5. Mini-Screwdriver - normally stored in the corkscrew (which sadly does not fit in my early grooved corkscrew; still working on that)

If the mini screwdriver fit the corkscrew, and it had a keyring, it'd be perfect.
