I don't know how to quantify the stiffness, but if I leave my belt in my trousers, and I do the buckle up, I can hold the belt horizontal, and it holds the trousers open, as if I'm still standing in them. To me, they seem quite substantial. I haven't used a gunbelt since I gave up competitive shooting about 15 years ago, but I'm sure it's easily as stiff as my old leather belt. In particular, Chute's 1.5 belt is very rigid, with it's velcro reinforcement.
    Good luck, Gary

+1 for The Belt Man. One black and one brown, both 1.5" here. I wear them after hours and in the office. Whatever i'm carrying rides securely on my side. I also wear a Wilderness frequent flyer for casual dress, usually shorts, as well as an instructor belt when I was shooting competitively.

Most every day I wear a gun belt made by David M. Bullard. He's the same leather maker from Texas that made my two holsters.

    Highly recommended.

Blackhawk Universal BDU belt. Had it for almost a year now and have been quite happy with it for the price paid.

I have a belt from Kary, and this belt is solid as can be. I have been running his every day since I bought it. He is a great guy to deal with on top of everything else. This has been bmy best riggers belt by far.

I wear a belt from www.thebeltman.net, too. The best leather belt I've had to date. It takes some time to get it (some four weeks), as most of their models are made to order.
But they're well worth the wait. Excellent craftsmanship with a lot attention to detail.
Before I got my Beltman belt I wore an Instructor's Belt from The Wilderness. It's also a nice belt but a completely different style. Although I really like the Ti buckle and it's my belt of choice for any outdoor activities.

So far I have just been using the belts that come with my shorts when I buy 'em. A cloth piece with double D rings on the end. I would like to make myself a slatts type belt with the same double D rings out of some paracord though, I just haven't had the time, and trying to get the slatts knotting down has been a bit of a pain in the ****.

Just generic double-latch belts ... Usually from Old Navy and have 1 from Wal Mart that is still hanging in the closet

Best best I have is from Fossil (the watch company) ... It is a tough belt -- Had it for about 8 years now and it still is going strong

Wow, not even cheap belts at Walmart, they went from $15-30. Screw that, I'll look into a rigger! Good thread.

A 1 3/16" black webbed Bison belt with a nylon over/under buckle. I bought this back in 2008 to wear on a trip to the Philippines (no metal on it) and when I came back, I turned it into my daily wear belt. Yup, 2 years and still looks new. :)

I had my leather belt custom made by RB, a superb leather working artisan, and fellow member of Bushcraft UK and it is the most comfortable belt which I've ever worn.

It holds all my belt kit very securely, accessible and discreetly.
