Harry Harrison - Stainless steel rat goes to Hell
Star Wars: Allegiance by Timothy Zahn
God, no! by Penn Jillette
Since my vacation ended I have a hard time finding time to relax and read, so I'm still in the middle of a Star Wars novel, Enemy Lines: Rebel Dream. I miss having more time to read, I made it through 3 or 4 books in that two week vacation and it was awesome!
Good book. Almost all of T.Z.'s Star Wars books are good.
Here's the followup novel:
Yup I have his next one on my Kindle. I'm glad they released all SW books in digital format & all future releases too.
I love that series, just finished rereading the first four books. Have you read Lord of Light?
'The Definitive Book of Body Language' by Allan & Barbara Pease
I actually have a few books I'm working on simultaneously - a survival story and one book about Ed Gein.
Would either of you have suggestions on where to start if one wanted to begin reading the Star Wars books?
Hitman by Rex Feral and Guns & Ammo
That depends if you prefer the prequels or the classic Star Wars. If it's the latter I'd start with Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy". Heir to the Empire is the first book of that trilogy.
I agree. I'm also a big Sith fan & I love the Darth Bane books. Explains the rule of two story line etc. The old republic era novels are great.
The God Delusion
I once went on vacation, and spent the whole two weeks reading, I never moved except to deal with biologicalal issues. It was an awesome vacation. One of the best evahh.
I absolutely loved the Zahn Star Wars novels back when I was interested in them. It's been many years since I read one and wouldn't know where to start up again.
I'm still on a huge Warhammer 40k kick. I have a few more waiting for me when I'm done with 'Tales of Heresy' as I'm around halfway through this anthology. I also have some Warhammer (regular) novels to read but I tend to enjoy these less even if it's by authors I usually enjoy.
I don't play the game though. However I did paint miniatures during my teens.
Just thought of some more, they are a good read in between. Collections of short stories:
I have this series in my TBR. Horus heresy I think. My last sup at work told me about this. Too many books, not enough time.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
A Princess of Mars, by Edgar Rice Burroughs
I just finished George R.R. Martin's A Dance With Dragons and am moving on to The Riddle-Master of Hed by Patricia A. McKillip.
Thanks guys, would be a classic Star Wars fan more so, I'll check out the Thrawn Trilogy
