Great book! If you are a L'Amour fan, check out The Walking Drum. It is set in 12th century Moorish Spain. I've lost count of how many times I've read that book.

I saw my dad had it lying around one day and he said "I'll let you borrow it when I'm done". A few days later he handed it to me. :rave:

I've just started on 'The Biggest Secret' by David Icke. Quite frankly it's insane and nigh on unreadable. It's a mess of paranoid conspiracy theories which jumps from one subject to another withought a thought to narrative. This guy strikes me as a person with paranoid schizophrenia given free rein to espouse his delusions. Barking mad.

I'm reading ”America Unchained” by Dave Gorman - an English satirist/comedian trying to do a road trip across the USA without giving any money to “The Man” – ie no chain hotels, restaurants, petrol stations, etc.
So far it’s a quite funny take on corporatization and the loss of the unique charm and character of local businesses.

    Currently:

"Across the Fence," by John Stryker Meyer. A first person narrative of what it was like to be a recon soldier with SOG during the Vietnam war. Pretty good so far.
"The SAS Guide to Tracking," by Bob Carss. Excellent book.
"Hawke's Special Forces Handbook," by Mykel Hawke. A fairly basic survival manual, but I'm pleased with it.
"The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich," by William Shirer. This book is pretty much a classic. Easy reading, detailed and fairly accurate historical account of the Third Reich.
"The World Crisis, 1911-1918," by Winston S. Churchill. Churchill's take on WWI. Obviously not the most unbiased book around, but still pretty good.

I tend to start too many books at once... but hey, you can never read too much, right?

'The Lost' (Gaunt's Ghosts omnibus) by Dan Abnett. One of my favourite authors. I can't get enough Warhammer 40k at the minute.
