Mattis: Hold the Line; The Collected Works of Secretary of Defense Jame Mattis. Mostly speeches at various conferences so far into it. The man did come up with some pretty good pieces; for example when he was speaking of men like John Glenn, General Marshall.... And his resignation letter is a beauty! ;)

Just got my Kindle download of John Bolton's book 'The Room Where It Happened'. This sorta thing holds the same fascination for me as watching news reports of a train wreck...

Lucifer's Hammer. Though I have the book, I am currently listening to it via it's Audible version.

Take a stab at America Before by Graham Hancock. Takes you on a deeper dive of the continent.

1491 and Graham Hancock’s work ‘Fingerprints of the Gods’ was a huge red pill for me. The beginning of a total change in my life thinking. I highly recommend both books and encourage continual questioning of your thinking.

I've read all of Graham's anthropology books. Jared Diamond is no slouch either.

I'll do that----1491 has been amazing--especially the way the material is collated..?

    About half way thru this---
I cannot decide if Teddy Roosevelt was amazing or insane...?

He was an interesting guy for sure! I have a book by Doris Kearns Goodwin that has combined biographies of Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft: The Bully Pulpit, copyright 2013. This is a BIG book, which suits these two guys! ;)

Amongst the other bits that I had not realized before reading it a few years ago was that Teddy Roosevelt was one of, if not THE first to make an effort to implement some sort of national healthcare... with the usual resistance by the AMA and therefore lack of success. Yup. Complaints of socialism...

We were up in NY I think two summers ago; visiting some friends in Queens and out on Long Island. Stopped by Teddy Roosevelt's house/farm out there. Amongst other things, the Park Rangers (it is a National Park it seems) will raise a flag on the house' flagpole; after a few minutes bring it down and fold it appropriately and will print out a certificate. Kind of a neat thing to do... fee wasn't bad. Somewhere around $45?

This work is somewhat unique since it takes place after his third party election failure and the end result of this expedition was a massive decline in his health...it is almost a twilight for him---a turning moment...the information on his son Kermit in this volume is very very interesting as well..

Just started "Searching for Stars on an Island in Maine", by Alan Lightman. I'm enjoying it very much so far; Lightman is a physicist and this book is a series of his ruminations on the material and non-material worlds. Well-writen.

Just finished John Bolton's book on my Kindle...

Tell you the truth, after all the hype most of the supposed 'blockbuster' revelations.... weren't. What a surprise (face plant)!

Best part of the book IMNSHO was the last chapter... the 'Epilogue'. Thought his final thoughts were on target; also still think he was a class A :censored: for not stepping up to testify... Classic case of wanting to look like a know it all without making a commitment...

    Oh well...
