Yeah, I've loved Cussler for a while. Started reading him as a teen. I've started to not like and not read his main NUMA series books as much as I used to, but I've really enjoyed his Issac Bell historical fiction series. I thought I knew a lot about older cars until I started reading Cussler and learned about a ton of cars and other vehicles I never knew existed. The only problem with his stories is some of them are very similar to each other.

Another one for 'Off the Grid'. Good story.

Just read 'Why does E=mc2? (And Why Should We Care?)' by Brian Cox & Jeff Forshaw. Vey good explanation of the space/time consequences of traveling through space near the speed of light. Don't know if I'll ever get Quantum Mechanics however.

I used to enjoy Cussler too. Quick and fun reads.

I just finished "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold" from John le Carre. Very good. I grabbed his "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy". I read it once before probably 20 years ago. I enjoyed the movie with Gary Oldham from a few years ago too. I'll be working my way through le Carre novels this summer.

I just came on this thread -- only recently began browsing the 'General Category' here you see... As others have said, all y'all are quite impressive in the collective range of what is read! I've made a lot of notes of books I need to take a closer look at...

That being said, here's my current active reading:
    • Books:
      • Living Emunah, Achieving a Life of Serenity Through Faith, by Rabbi David Ashear
      • Beacons on the Talmud's Sea, adapted from the works of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson
      • The Slave, by Isaac Bashevis Singer
    • Magazines (as you'll note, I'm badly backlogged on these!):
      • The Atlantic, December 2015
      • MIT Sloan Management Review, Winter 2016
      • MIT Sloan Management Review, Spring 2016
      • Asimov's Science Fiction, July 2016 (Kindle edition)
      • Commentary, June 2016 (Kindle edition)
In addition, I have daily/weekly readings from Tehillim (also known as the Book of Psalms) and the weekly Torah (also known as Five Books of Moses) portion.
At least two of the magazines and one of the books are 'stationed' at 'strategic' locations in the house. Others live in my edc bag or in the car... together with my Kindle. I hate being without something to read. I get bored too easily!
    L'chaim!
