    From Ruger Forums:

Estimated Annual Production 2.5 Billon Rounds (Wikipedia)

That is Approx 13,700 bricks of 500 per day.

Sounds like allot? About 1,800 Walmarts sell Ammo, that is less than 8 bricks per day per Walmart.

Without substantial capital equipment say they can flex up 20%. That is still less than 10 bricks per day. If you went for adding capacity say 50% to 12 bricks per Walmart per day, if you started now it would take you 18 months minimum to get new lines in production.

Most of the new production is from stopping producing less popular calibers and longer production runs of the same type to avoid lost time from switching calibers.

Our local WalMart has a pallet of .22lr in the back. Every day at 7am they set out 4 bricks. Every day the same 4 guys are there and buy them before they are even on the shelf. They have plenty of other calibers/gauges though.

This month's Blue Press from Dillon has an article a gentleman wrote about how it is cheaper for him to shoot and reload 9mm than shoot .22's.

Then they resale them a 100% mark up. Plus give a kickback to someone?

I wouldn't be surprised if they resold them. I wouldn't go so far as accusing the salesperson for getting kickbacks. Apparently it's the store policy to only put out 4 a day.
