I wanted to share my 10 Favorite Victorinox EDC pocket knives? If you had to pick just one which one would you choose your not limited by my selections. Let me know what I missed. 1. Huntsman 2. Swiss Champ 3. Camper 4. Super Tinker 5. Spartan 6. Climber 7. Pioneer 8. Farmer 9. Walker 10. Classic SD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My two favorite models are discontinued ones - Yeoman and Woodsman. The Yeoman is my absolute favorite and is the knife I edc. I even had a custom one made. To me the Woodsman is a great rural and camping knife. The Woodsman is a Huntsman plus magnifying glass and inline phillips. Of the current models, my favorites are: - Rambler - Compact - Super Tinker - Pioneer X - Explorer - Fieldmaster
You ought to set this up as a poll that we can vote on.... the forum has a way to do that! That being said, of the ones you list: 1) Huntsman -- tie with Fieldmaster. Basically the same except the Fieldmaster has a philips driver instead of the corkscrew 4) Super Tinker 6) Climber 7) Pioneer 8) Farmer, but tied with the Pioneer - X You missed the Cadet, which is often listed as a favorite for edc, especially when wearing office attire! For myself, although I prefer the Super Tinker, the Tinker - especially in its Gadsden flag version, is a favorite. L'chaim! Moshe ben David
In order of how often I carry them: 1. Swiss Champ 2. Explorer 3. Cybertool 34 4. Alox Cadet The Swiss Champ fits in my front pocket very well but it is a bit heavy. I have it in my pocket for work but when I go home, I carry the Explorer. The Cybertool is only carried when I know I need the special bits and the Cadet goes with me on the rare occasions I wear slacks.
Minichamp, rambler and alox cadet. I want them to reintroduce the yeoman and mechanic. I’ve got a couple of others but they’re all a compromise really and I carry one with more stuff on than I need (explorer) or not enough (spartan). I like the wenger I’ve got - equivalent would be the evogrip 16 but it doesn’t look like they make that anymore either!
As you can tell by the amount of wear, this Alox Cadet sees a fair amount of pocket time. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Camper, blade sizes are great for work or eating, corkscrew works wonders on knots & the saw has bailed me out so many times it’s ridiculous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Only have the Cadet alox, so that makes it easier to choose. Have a Minichamp on the way. I also think the Farmer seem to have a useful selection of tools. Maybe some day.
Original Army model with aluminum scales...the only thing they got wrong was no locking knife blade. The current Army model is just too big for casual EDC....thus, I have adopted the Swiza D04 for general use...same general size as the original Army model but with locking blade. The locking mechanism is sheer genius, to boot!
I'm still kicking myself for losing a Wenger Dynasty series knife in a standard size w/ corkscrew and locking blade --- I'd give my interest in Hell to still have it, or for a similar model to come back (I mislike the ergonomic handles in the smaller sizes). Currently carrying a Rangerwood 55 w/ a thumb stud for one-hand opening.
B Beautyful. Have a red old cross Farmer that looks well worn like that. You should file off the keyring attachment if you dont use it. So much better.
OTOH, Murphy says as soon as he files off the keyring attachment he'll find he desperately needs it! Oh yeah... L'chaim! Moshe ben David
I'm currently refreshing my two EDCs (Work vs Home) For work I'm leaning towards Ranger For home I'm still undecided If I could only carry one...my Farmer
For the last couple of years the Walker has been my edc outside of work. I carried a Tinker long enough the I have changed the shape of the blade sharpening it. I have carried a Farmer a lot and Adventurer a lot. I have carried a swiss army knife of some form for 30 years I like the Walker well enough to buy a backup
I mostly use Alox and a few Swisstools, I just recently discovered the Compact and bought 3! Fantastic tool set and super light
