Sure it has seen other incarnations, but among other things.... it looks like a bad rendition of one of the weapons used in the Blade movies (slightly different fold configuration... Blade version has a shorter center segment):

It says Master Cutlery on one side and 440 stainless made in China on the other

Master Cutlery does a lot of cheap knives and some movie replicas etc. While not exactly functional, some of their stuff does look pretty neat. They are kind of a cheaper version of United Cutlery. For those who don't know, United Cutlery is a company that does faithful replicas and higher end art/collector items by people like Gil Hibben etc. They do other items as well, but mostly replicas.

    Impractical?!

What if you end up in a circular room and need a knife that has the behavior of a boomerang? And you also need that knife to define all aerodynamic and....well every other law of physics that applys? What do you do then huh? Do yo know how slow and expensive BudK shipping is?

Ok techno loving vampires aside. What if you need to simultaneously cut some twine and poke yourself in the forearm at the same time? We have all been there. needing to cut some twine or rope or whatever but at the same time we need to poke ourselves to check our blood sugar or whatever. Seems pretty practical to me.

Hmm, for me it's looking like a gardening tool. Get a root out or cut a tree for grafting.
Tactical Gardening Rescue and Recovery Team, never heard of them?
(must find a longer and more complicated unit name that fits to this item)

it looks like a large, handheld version of the blade at the bottom of a food processor. it doesn't seem to have any internal mechanism to spin like one, though. Most impractical kitchen tool ever?
