Hey guys, first time posting, but I've been a lurker for a while. So, after months of waiting I frantically ordered the 2013 edition Maratac Mid Pilot watch from County Comm as it came available last Friday. On Monday I saw that a shipping label had been ordered, and I didn't hear anything again until this morning when paypal informed me that my order had been refunded because County Comm had apparently oversold their stock. As miffed as I am that I waited 7 days to be given this information, I'll save that for another time.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for similar automatic watches around the same size and price point, with a similar look? I like some of the Lum Tec Combat series, but I'm trying to keep the price point a little lower. Any suggestions?

I suggest the Binnacle Anchor by Bernhardt Watch (see web site) https://www.bernhardtwatch.com/index.php?id=34
I got tired of waiting for the CC watch to show up and went looking elsewhere.
Someone on this forum mentioned this watch company and I checked them out.
I have not bought yet, but will be ordering soon.

Thanks dalewa, I actually like the look of the Binnacle Anchor, I wonder if it would be any trouble putting a leather band on it? I've also looked some at Steinhart watches.

You didn't miss out - the CC toy watch broke after 1 month for me, and CC kept my watch when I sent it in for repairs (after having it for 7 weeks). Save yourself the headache and buy a watch from a manufacturer that knows what they're doing and won't rob you if you need warranty work.

I went with the Laco Swiss Quartz instead, it landed yesterday and it is beautiful.
I couldn't be happier with a watch, well unless maybe I could have afforded the auto or hand wound.

seikos are great and relatively cheap. I also bought a maratac pilot and its on its way, sorry to hear about what happened. also I've owned several watches using the same movement as the maratac pilot and I've never had an issue with them, IMO its very good movement and very hardy. I think it all depends on how you are using your watch, i wear gshocks when im out and about and potentially getting into some trouble that would otherwise destroy any automatic watch...

My Maratac died on my nightstand...after a month of wearing it to work at my desk job. I'm sure the movement is good, I'm not so CC/Maratac know how to put a watch together.

hopefully they figured it out lol. and idk if i would send my watch back to them if something happened. the miyota movement is pretty popular if i had to i would just drop it off at my local watch guy and have him tinker with it. either way pretty excited about this watch hopefully once it arrives ill still have good thing to say about CC haha.

I would highly recommend sending it to a competent watchmaker for any repairs.

i agree 100% the guy i go to here in buffalo is great, i picked up a used luminox that worked for 3 hours then the thing completely died. I was going to pay the the ridiculous price to ship it and get them to fix it but i said nope and gave it to the guy here, a week later it was fixed and that watch has been solid from then on.

A good Chase Durer Pilot Commander is one fine watch.

They are one of the original manufacturers that made the German pilot watches during WWII.
