I bought it from a member of a Swedish forum , he told me it had been tested by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. I got curious so I sent an email to them and asked for information about M3440-058010 and about 2 weeks later I got a reply with the info I wanted.
In 2003 it was part of a batch of 10 watches taht had the M number engraved into the back to be a part of the testing to become the official watch for Air Force pilots.
Due to cutdowns in the budget the whole thing was cancelled and the watches found new owners. I dont know what number I am in the list of owners but I bought it in 2007

My trusty Tag Kirium F1 is on tour to Switzerland getting rebuilt - I think all those hundreds of hours driving cross-country with my tires a bit out of balance (LONG story) finally killed it.
On top of that, I can't seem to find a 3v lithium 1632 battery to revive my old .beat Swatch ('cause you aren't a REAL dork until you tell .beat time!)
In related news, I'm giving serious thought to an automatic with a 2nd time zone hand, sapphire crystal, and a slide-rule bezel (with real numbers, for multiply/divide type functions). Anyone heard of such a thing?
umm... anyone got the time?
I wear a "El Cheapo / Walmart" Casio remote control watch...
