To follow on with Monocrom's answer:

I think some time around November or December of 2011 was the final production date. They are difficult to find, but they pop up on eBay or through some of the watch forums. The price on them has appreciated handsomely though.

I don't agree with this statement, they can still be had for $300-$350.

There's currently a topic on the WatchUseek.com forums regarding the prices of Pre-owned examples, and how they've nearly doubled. If you can find one (in excellent condition) selling for $300 - $350, jump on it!

Already did, got mine for $325 in like new condition. It was on stock rubber, so I ordered a bracelet from Seiko USA for $57 shipped.

Been working in the yard today and I have on my old beater. A Luminox on a Zulu band. She ain't pretty buy she has been worn for work and outdoor activities for over 6 years and never given me one problem. I don't have to worry about scratching or beating it up and it is easily replaceable if broken. I have nicer watches but use this one for hard use.[IMG]

Did you have the AR done custom? If so, by whom? That's really cool being able to read the watch at that angle.

Yeah, the SRP043 comes with a Hardlex Crystal as standard which is less likely to shatter than Sapphire but is slightly softer so will scratch easier. Within the first month of ownership, I had my hands in my pocket as I walked through a doorway catching the glass on the door latch which left a nice scratch. Being a little OCD, it would drive me nuts to see it every time I looked at the watch.

So, I sent my watch to Harold (yobokies) to supply and fit the Internally AR Coated Sapphire. You can see some of his other stuff at his gallery: http://s161.beta.photobucket.com/user/yobokies/library/?start=all

His contact email is yobokies AT yahoo.com.hk and direct link to the SRP043 Crystal is http://s161.beta.photobucket.com/user/yobokies/media/Sapphire/IMG_6536.jpg.html?sort=3&o=10

Much appreciated. I'll have to contact him should I scratch my crystal.
