WOW! That is VERY COOL! I've got an SKX007 also, and I love it, so that's probably why I like this one so much. The "Bumble Bee".

Very nice watch. I just looked and that model is doing nothing but appreciating over time. Looks like it was introduced around 2007 or so and are currently selling for about 2x the original price. Did you buy it new, or on the pre-owned market?

Both it, and my SKX173 were purchased new, and were gifts from my wife for our anniversaries. I got the SKX173 first, but then when they were both discontinued I told her and she told me to order the SKXA35 ASAP and it would make its way to me “eventually”, lol.

I now do Seiko mods and have other nicer watches, but the SKX173 and SKXA35 will remain stock and still get wrist time as they are fantastic watches!

Wow. Been a little while, gents. Good to see so many familiar usernames with new watches!

A lot has changed since I last posted, including what’s on the wrist. Sold off some things I don’t wear anymore (recently been fixing up a truck) and have downsized my collection considerably.

Recent lifestyle changes, including being more active, have required that I stress durability with my watch. That being said, I currently EDC this Timex Ironman. It’s not luxury, but it gets the job done and is overall a fantastic piece of equipment that does just about any form of timekeeping one could ever need.

Nice! I like simple and functional. How big is it? I have an old Expedition XL, and it still keeps perfect time, but I haven't worn it in years because the Indiglo burns out in about 2 months. Plus, it's a negative display vs. positive like yours, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

Please tell me it's bigger than about 42mm! LOL!

Timex is so confusing when it comes to their Ironman model lineup. This particular watch is called the "Ironman Classic 30," specifically model no. TW5M09500. To my eye, it does seem to wear like a 42mm or so watch, despite the fact Timex lists it as "38mm," which is wildly off in my estimation given the pushers and elevated bezel. It wouldn't be much larger though (I have somewhat smaller wrists, so it might look bigger in the shot).

It's a shame that sports watches with big, easy-to-read positive displays seem to be going largely out of style. I used to have a Suunto Vector that I liked a lot, but for a number of reasons I chose to get rid of it (mainly the lack of dependable water resistance). The main reason I purchased this watch is because my old G-Shock is simply frustrating to read. I have good eyesight, but why all the unnecessary bling on the dial?

Anyways, I hope that you will find the one you're looking for! I used to be very deep into expensive watches, and frankly still dream about buying myself an Omega Seamaster one day. However, there is something to be said for wearing a watch that you literally don't have to think about.

Found a Ti bracelet for my Ti diver, super happy w this $35 band. Was not expecting much but like it better than some of my other bands at 6x the price. Next up is the anodizing and see the quality of the Ti. An Ano job will always tell the quality by the colors it takes on a certain voltage.[IMG]
