I live in Indiana Amish country. My Amish neighbor has a fully equipped, modern woodshop where he builds kitchen cabinets and countertops. Runs a huge generator head off a John Deere diesel power unit for electricity. Have another guy down the road with a $500K, CNC cutter grinder in his pole barn. He can manufacture custom router bits, shaper heads, or re-sharpen old ones. There is a HUGE difference between the various Amish communities as to what is and is not permissible. Local bishops have the final say. The ones around here are pretty liberal. They allow almost anything modern as long it's used for a business. The one thing that has recently struck me as funny, the newest "status symbol" among my neighborhood's Amish is the bass boat. They generally keep them out of sight, and they need an "English" friend with a truck to get to the lakes, but somehow a $50K, Nitro with a 300HP Mercury outboard is A-OK.
