Didn't know it came in a round, orange banded version. Unless the orange band is an after-market mod? How old is your watch?

    Moshe-
This is a current model...$25-ish on Amazon or Wal-Mart.com.

Model AE2100W-4AVCF which has a metal embellished case
(unlike the somewhat similar-looking all resin AE-1100 variant which is bucks less at $19.99)

I quite like it...it’s my “boldest, brashest” watch. My Weekender if you will.

@Gogogordy: NICE! I definitely like it better than the square variants. Especially the sleeker function buttons along the sides. Maybe when mine dies I'll look at this ... but that's some years off I suppose.

Nice looking watch. I notice one reviewer on Amazon said the numbers were hard to read and the time hard to set. What is your take on those comments?

I don't usually care for black cases or orange faces, but *every* time you post that Vostok, some of my resolve to not buy one erodes. Why do I like it so much? Is it the depth of the dial within that beveled chapter ring, and how it seamlessly rises like a caldera to the edge of the crystal? There is something about it that is pulling at me. If it has a SS cousin, please do not tell me about it. I am not ready to know that.

At my age the numbers on most traditional watches are hard to read! Which is primarily why I like Casio watches (well and they’re typically very cool, or so nerdy they’re cool (like me))

I have a very nice Citizen EcoDrive Chrono I no longer wear for that very reason, but my Casios are all quite readable even without my glasses on. A shame about my Citizen*...a nightstand queen now.

That being said, a few minutes with my feet up and the manual in hand and my Casios (all of them) are set and configured to my liking. Easy.

*Speaking of hard to set the time...my Citizen is a lesson in frustration EVERY time DST rolls around, or a leap month etc....I’m not worthy apparently and frankly I don’t miss wearing it.

My rotation of wearin’ watches consists of now 3 Casios, and an Apple watch (used primarily for tracking my daily bicycling)

I hear ya...but truthfully, watch alarms in general are pretty anemic. Don't count on hearing one if you sleep with your arm under the pillow, for sure.
