No question this is a 'clean' design, which I usually am very drawn to. I'll bet also both the hour markers and the hands have great lume? I gotta say though, that if I was considering this watch I'd be bothered by how little contrast there seems to be between the hands and the face. I'd wish the black outline/framing on the hands was a bit bolder. But that's just me. Or to put it another way, in this case, MMDV (My Mileage Does Vary)! LOL L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Great color matching today, as always these things happen by accident. Hamilton Khaki Mechanical Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lume is good, not Seiko good but good enough. It's similar but maybe slightly better than the lume on my Squale which is just average. Both are quick to light up but not intense and not terribly long lasting, if that makes sense. But compared to the Seiko divers almost all watches have average lume. The pic is pretty representative of the hands and the contrast to the dial. But PBJS is right, IRL they are not at all difficult to read. I've never once thought that the hand to dial contrast was poor or the watch was hard to read. The polishing of the case is very fine and almost too shiny for me and the captive bezel is a little odd but overall I'm pleased. It may be slightly overpriced but it's a nice watch, clean is a good way to describe it. A close up pic may show the contrast more accurately
Can anyone truly be surprised by the fact I'm wearing this on a Thursday? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Thanks! Yes, in the close up pic I can see the hands etc much more clearly. Funny isn't it how well Seiko lume does compared to most everyone else? One would think others would take note ... L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Just got a new digi. Been rocking it at work lately. I wear a button-down and tie everyday so the Protrek looks kind of outta place. But every time I look at it I'm reminded of the outdoors so I'm gonna keep it on the wrist for a few more weeks. Protrek PRW-3510-1ER Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saturday morning coffee.. This watch is growing on me. Bought it with some of the money I got from selling my Khaki automatic just to still have a mechanical field watch. I didn't expect to like the manual wind, but I actually love it. In some way it makes the watch experience more personal, if that makes sense at all. I also have perfect control of the power reserve, which is very nice when I rotate a few other watches in between. I was reminded how practical this actually is, after buying a 1. generation Seiko Monster, which only has auto winding. Whenever I take it off, it's usually stopped when I pick it up again. I also really like the thin profile and the blasted finish of the case. I do miss some of the more refined details of the auto, especially the red seconds hand and more lume on the dial (and even that wasn't enough lume IMO). The strap is very comfortable. Combined with the light case I hardly notice wearing a watch. I wanted the black dial, but couldn't find any used ones. Now I'm not so sure anymore. I don't think I would like the color of the strap as much on the black version, and being so comfortable it would be a shame to replace it. I think the black dial would give the watch a bit more presence on the wrist, and being on the small side to begin with, that's probably a good thing. I guess it's a thigh. ^I have a similar watch that is a citizen Ecodrive. It also has a khaki canvas type band and a bushed case with black face. It too is extremely comfortable to wear. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
