An unmodded version of this watch is next on my list, a true classic in every. BTW, I like the mods.

My left wrist is ugly. Gonna be quite some time before a watch is worn again.
Don't have anything 1/10 as classy as most of y'all....

I wish it wasn't so tough to get a pic up. I don't figure any body would even think of putting a watch on my wrist. It looks better but it's a long way from well.

That is a nice pairing. That Russ lock is very cool, especially the checkerboard. Seems like I see something everyday on this forum that I have never seen before. BTW, the watch is nice too.

Yup its a Vostok Komandirskie 1965. Mechanical movt. 17 jewels. Dial is the same as the original but case is sized up slightly for modern tastes.

I sent it to Jay at MotorCity WatchWorks. His turnaround time is 8-10 weeks though. You could send it to Duarte at Northeast Watch Works (NE Watch Works) and his turnaround time is about 2 weeks. Nearly identical pricing.

No prep necessary. Just ship the watch. Either of them will remove the movement and crystal, separate all the parts, have them blasted by a third party, and put it all back together. While they have the watch apart you could easily have them swap hands or crystals as well. I had the case blasted and the hands switched. Then swapped the bezel insert myself upon return of the watch.

They both have pretty good websites that outline their services and prices and show some pictures of various watches they've done.
