I'm going to take a guess that your looking at this one below, In which case I would get it to keep your knives sharp by 'tuning' them but not to rework the edge ..
I'd look into some other method of doing reworking the edge, you can find may instructions here on the forum and other sites to show you how to do it ,)

    Good luck !

    BE WELL .. GH

I use the dark stick from time to time at work in office. It should work OK for serrated edge as it's not oval but with pointy sides, think an elongated Pigskin.

The V sharpener should be enough for thin blade, a Vic mainly.

I had that sharpener, when I used to own SAK's, and it works pretty decent on them, I found out that this one gives you more sharpening for your money.

That looks OK to use for a rough edge but not fine enough for a finished edge, as for the V sharpener, it may be alright for a quick touch up on a kitchen knife but I would not use it on any decent knife as it would do more harm than good. As for serrated, I don't consider themknives, they're saws!
If you have to cut through wet rope in an emergency, do what my brother does on his boat, keep a sharp hatchet around.

x2. You need to get a round fine file for serrations, or get some type of spyderco stone with a corner for serrations.

The vic one looks like has two corners, will work on serrations just fine. Not all V sharpener automatically ruin your knife, the carbide ones will tear a lot of metal from the edge but the result is workable. Ceramic ones won't do that, thou it won't get your knife very sharp either (again workable edge that will be fine for many NKP).

Agreed. I could have bought one twice with all the money I spent on cheap systems. Finally got one and set to sharpening everything in the house. Very effective and easy to use.
