First an introduction with a little more info than my intro thread. I'm a 30 year old guy from Texas and have an affinity for motorcycles. I'm also a workaholic. My current loves are these two: But these two are pretty cool too Here's today's carry around the house. And a bag of mine. I'm not using this one much anymore. It was my edc bag but it was to conspicuous in my opinion so I went to a messenger bag. Now I carry it for shooting and hunting. Front slash pocket: Top pocket. I have a tendency to overload this one with stuff because it's so handy.
Continued: Everything that's in the top pocket. I did have a Clean Kanteen in here but it developed a crack... probably from bouncing around inside the panniers on my bike. Contents of the organizer pocket: Main pocket: In the otterbox:
Very nice. Where'd ya get the emergency signal card? And are thoe two ferro rods on your otterbox kit? Also...never seen an otterbox that looked like that one. Good job on packing all of that into such a small bag!
Also, I've had those little alluminum super glue tubs dry up on me. Someone once recommended the little bottles of super glue at the dollar store. Tiny little plastic bottle. Haven't needed it so I've still nevver opened it, but I believed them
Thanks for the conments Plumbah! Ive been lurking your thread for a while now and really enjoy it. I think... no... I can't remember where I got the small signal mirror. I'm pretty sure it's distributed by Adventure Medical Kits. I haven't had a tube of super glue dry up on me yet but I've had one leak everywhere after it was opened so I consider them one time use items. Much like those little tubes of rubber cement. The one in there is probably 4 years old now and it's still squishy. The little ferro rod is from Esee. I have no clue where they source them from but they used to sell them for a $1 ea. on their website so I bought a handful. The otterbox case was given to me by my father in law. It was supposed to be for protecting a phone but I haven't had a phone that small in years. It makes a great little first aid box.
My wallet evolution. I went from a overly fat trifold to a leather front pocket wallet as seen here. It stretched out and I was forced to upgrade. To a Flowfold bifold. I still love this wallet but it only serves one function. It's thin and light though. Then I found this bad boy! It'll carry the Maratac AAA inside the flap. Closed on the light.
Gracias senor. I don't like paying lots of money on things I might lose but I also have to have functional gear. It's a balance.
I've got the small mirror, from Adventure Medical Kits (bought it at Cabela's), but that emergency card is what iIwas curious about...though I can see it its EESE now
Yep they sell a whole package of them. They're great little cheat sheets. I've been a big Esee fan since I bought my first Izula back in 2009 or so.
So I'm sitting here and both the girls are asleep and figured I'd continue spamming my thread. I've had this Maxped pouch for a few years now. It started off as my work edc organizer by literally being a BDU pocket organizer. It was okay but I'm moving on to lighter simpler packages. These days it carries all this in my EDC bag. All spread out: And in the admin panel of my bag I keep one of these: I find that this and a Leatherman Juice takes care of most of my charging, data, and tool needs on a day to day basis. Of note are the spare battery for my camera, 2 micro-usb cables, 1 mini-usb cable, card reader, micro SD card adapter, and dongle for hooking up the card reader to my smart phone. The cable configuration means I can charge my wife phone and my phone off the Anker wall charger along with a GPS or Gopro all at the same time. Alternatively the my camera also takes a micro-usb charger. This setup is much more module than what I had before and if I travel but switch bags I can throw this stuff in and not worry about forgetting anything. The previously mentioned Otterbox FAK gets moved around too.
Just having a quick lunch at the project house. We're almost done. Kitchen. Done. New baseboards. The wife's craft room getting new cabinets and paint.
Here I am playing with the cell phone camera on my day off while waiting for Java to brew. I can't wait to get moved back into our house and unpack my coffee mugs.
I bought this Timbuk2 Classic Messenger on sale a few months back and it has replaced all my other bags (for now) as an EDC/GHB/SAW bag (SAW = Stay At Work). I can't recommend it enough and they've been on sale as of late for about 50% off. I added the phone pocket on the shoulder strap to keep a few small items handy. There's no way my honkin' Note 4 will fit though. Inside is: Leatherman Juice Stainless Hinderer Carmex wrapped in Gorilla Tape. When we open the flap we see... A bunch of stuff. The front pocket with the zipper holds this stuff. Lens cloth Surefire EP7(?) ear plugs SAK toothpick Lithium AAA battery Flashlight diffuser Sewing kit All this rides in the admin panel inside: 4 port USB charger Rite in the Rain pad Modded Zebra pen Brass Compass Bug spray Copper Maratac AAA #5 Nite Ize biner The rest is almost all modular pouches that I'll get to in a bit.
I've got a hot date with Mrs. Veriest1 tonight and I'm thinking this will be my carry. What does everyone think about that Nato strap on the Ray? Personally I think it needs a black buckle but I haven't found one I really like yet.
