Great news! I believe I'll just wait for your backpack and your accessory pouches. I believe it will be worth the wait.
Thanks so much for responding to my question. You guys are "on top of it".

BTW, I really like what you did with your Foliage color. It makes sense. Good one!

Not sure exactly where I read it, but the backpack version is still in R&D. It's several months out.

I ordered a Tactical Tailor sling bag when they first came out, the "Ranger Green/Black" one. The color is more gray than green. Is that close to the green used by Vanquest? Because then I would know what color I want! (Dark green in an urban environment is not my bag.)

I ordered the Vanquest sling before I saw it on this forum. When it arrived it was missing the grab handle on the bottom of the sling. Vanquest sent another out right away with a prepaid shipping box to return my first one. They have great customer service!

One thing I sort of don't like is the locking buckle on the main sling, anyway to disable this without breaking it?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

Now that a lot of ppl have these.. Can someone give me some size feedback? I have a Maxpediation Kodiak that I use when we travel (which I love, but its HUGE) - but Im looking for something smaller like the Sitka when i dont need to be carrying all the stuff I can get in the Kodiak

How does it compare in size to the Sitka?

I've never handled an actual Maxpud Sitka (only the WalMart knockoff), but the Javelin seems like it has the same length and height but more depth. It seems to hold more than the Sitka knockoff (due to superior organization) and is more comfortable to carry with a higher load. I keep meaning to do a video review, hopefully sometime this week so you can see how it hangs on a fat guy (6'2" 385lbs).

amator - are you talking about the black 'tactical' one strap walmart bag? I looked at that the other day and my first thought was 'its tiny'..

Its funny and yet confusing - you look at the specs for a bag and they look very similar but if you do the cubic inches its a huge difference..

    IE -Overall size comparison

    Sitka 12.5 x 18 x 5.25 = 1,181 cu
    V-slinger 10 x 16 x 6 = 960 cu
    Walmart Tactial 9.25 x 17.75 x 4.5 = 739 cu

Interesting. I thought from another thread it was identical to the Sitka in size. Sorry for spreading misinformation.

The Sitka is fine if your gear is relatively flat. The V slinger does a much better job at holding bulkier items which makes it a much more useful bag imo. I do sometimes miss the water bottle pocket on the Sitka, but the side pocket on the vslinger more than makes up for it.

I bought the Vanquest Medium Isopod with my Javelin, and it does very well at holding a water bottle when needed, although it can be a bit of overkill. It would be nice to have a simple open-ended MOLLE pouch with cordlock that mimics the function of the Sitka water bottle as well. This is my first MOLLE accessory and I don't have any MALICE clips or other attachments so I just stuck the Isopod on the main strap, which seems to work fairly well.

If this back was 20"x14"x6", had the bottom strap like the MOAB 10, had a radio / cell phone pocket on the sling like the MOAB10, had a hidden pistol pocket like the MOAB 10, accommodated a 3l bladder like the Sitka, and they keep all there current features this bag would be the PERFECT EDC bag. The only reason I'm going with the MOAB 10 over it is because of the hidden pistol pocket, bottom jacket strap, and slightly larger bladder accommodation
