Does anyone know the diameter of the back of the pressurized Fisher ink cartridge? I understand it is 2.5 inches long so shorter than the standard Fisher space pen refill but am wondering if it is the same diameter as the standard medium PR4 Fisher refill (5mm) or even thinner.
don't know about Ti, but i would be happy to see an aluminium version. steel is unnecessary for such a small pen (or any other pen, imho), and Ti is WAY too overrated, esp for that price level... a T-6061 alum pen which costs around 20$ is all that i need, and it's strong enough for any wild uses you could imagine for a keychain pen. overengineering is bad for you! ;-)
The titanium pens are lighter and offer better corrosion resistance, as well as the cool factor, but the stainless pens work just as well. If you want one and don't want to spend the big bucks, get the stainless. If you want something that's a little cooler and a little lighter, spring for the titanium. As far as aluminum, I've thought about it, but it's got problems of it's own. For one, aluminum would have to be anodized, which adds another step to the process and puts us at the mercy of an anodizer (more lead time issues, parts coming out right, etc), anodized aluminum isn't going to hold up nearly as well as the durable stainless and titanium, and it would be just one more thing to juggle trying to maintain stock levels.
I see that the stainless version is out of stock in the forum store. Any idea on when they will be available?
I'm just down a ways in Cedar Rapids, not too far. I hope to be sending some more stainless pens out to Jon tomorrow, and I'll have him add them to the store before they arrive so anyone who wants to place an order while they're en route to Jon can have their order shipped out as soon as Jon gets them.
I see that the stainless version is back in stock in the EDCF store. Just ordered one along with a few other goodies.
