:roof: Received the SS one today! What a wonderfull piece of work! And thanks for correcting me on the whistle Dizos :-X Oh and the Versati whistle I mentioned.......Although it's Ti, and good looking......has a plastic insert (that doesn't mind me very much, but would be nice if it was mentioned) but unfortunatly.....what DOES matter.......it isn't loud enough
Guess what? I just bought an awesome pen, but now I have a bruise on my right butt cheek where I wear my wallet.
Sorry guys, haven't been keeping up with this thread. I hate to even predict at this point, but the latest estimate is about 2-3 weeks. Material backlogs, lead time on custom tooling, etc etc etc. If I could chop off a toe and have the parts magically appear I would.
I'm afraid I'm as helpless here as anybody else regarding when these dam things are ready. The pens are actually not being machined by me, as it requires a different type of machine that I do not have, and the shop I'm subbing these out to here in town has been having problems both machining the titanium and has other (much larger) customers breathing down their necks. I'm afraid I'm a small customer for this shop and they keep pushing the date back as they fill orders for their larger customers. We were supposed to have these in March, and even that was later than I'd hoped. I spoke to the shop again yesterday and their most recent estimate is end of next week to get started on them. When I spoke to them two weeks ago they said beginning of June. I hate to try to find another shop to work on these, since this place is local and allows me a lot of oversight (I had to work with their machinists helping them to get these parts machined properly), and there is nowhere else around here that has this type of equipment. It basically boils down to these being a deceptively difficult part (especially in Titanium) and finding a competent place to machine them is a daunting task. Finding a place willing and able to turn out very high quality parts can be extremely difficult, especially finding a place that can make stuff up to the standards I produce in my own shop. If anyone has a spare $150,000 swiss lathe lying around let me know and I can crank these out myself :sigh:
Hey guys, the titanium pens are once again back in stock. Supply issues should be a thing of the past...
