I just got mine and it is wicked cool! Machining is fantastic, the threads are smooth as butter, and it hides right on my keychain! Very cool little pen, takes unnoticeable space and still pretty easy to write with! Only way you could make this little pen any better is if you added a McGizmo clip to it!

Got this through Jon, who runs the EDC Forum Store (which by the way, helps to offset the costs of running this place).

    Anybody else loving these things?

Great pen. Excellent workmanship and I understand there is now a pressurized refill for it. It hides nicely on your keychain till you need it.

Any chance of getting a pic of the VC pen next to a Pico Pen?

I can provide a comparison with a Keyton and some other pens, but don't have got a Pico Pen
What I want to emphasize in this post, it is the weight. For several months I EDCed the Key Ring Pen (from TrueUtility.com).
Now, I have a VC Ti pen - what a lightness!

Key Ring Pen - 23.6 g (0.83 oz), incl. split ring
Valiant Concepts Titanium Pen - 6.4 g (0.225 oz), incl. split ring
Valiant Concepts Stainless Steel Pen - 10.2 g (0.36 oz), incl. split ring
    A51 Mini Keyton - 17.4 g (0.615 oz), incl. lanyard
    Inka Stainless Steel Pen - 16.9 g (0.6 oz) with split ring, 14.7 g (0.52 oz) w/o split ring
    Zebra T3 Pocket Pen - 7.6 g (0.27 oz)
    Zebra F-301 Compact Pen - 12.4 g (0.44 oz)

    All ballpens weighed with refills.

The pen looks nice next to that Atwood. Maybe it's about time I get me one of those? ;D

Thanks a lot, Mirek. I have both of the Zebra pens so your pic is very helpful.

Is the Pico fragile? It looks likes it would break in half real easy.,,

It's not fragile. It's not a heavy duty pen, but I'm not in the least worried about breaking it accidentally.

It's not fragile but the pen part is held to the split ring part via a magnet... mine sadly fell/got knocked off at some point and I was left with a sad, empty split ring and pen top. Got the valient, it's a much better design :)

The pico pen and those cable keyrings with the screw connector (not the twisty connector, those rock) are on my :censored: list!

Cool pen. How comfortable and how easy to control is the Valiant Concepts pen as one writes with it? I have been wondering if it is too short to rest on the hand as one writes with it. Your thoughts, owners? Thanks!

It is too short for extended writing. It is good for jotting quick notes.

I'm ordering one as soon as the titanium is restoked. I might order one of the stainless steel ones and try it out for a while and give it away to a friend when the titanium pens are available though.

I have a picopen and have never actually used a Valiant concepts pen...but I can tell just by looking at the VC pen that the design is better and more practical. It is short, but if I am writing a lot I will use my space pen and save the EDC pen for emergencies/quick notes/what have you. I love my pico but I keep it in a pocket because the risk of the pen falling off the cap is very real. It is a great little pen and I highly recommend it, but you have to be careful to store it somewhere where it will be safe from the risk of taking a free fall. The risks aren't exceptionally high because the magnet is decent, but it is not impossible (as some have reported) because it is not extraordinarily strong, either.

I cant wait to get the VC titanium because I will be happy when I can hang a pen from my keys and not have to worry. Great, practical design. I am surprised that I haven't heard of another larger company taking interest in purchasing/distributing that design to the mass public.

Is the stainless steel version available anywhere? I emailed J.S. Burley's but didn't hear anything back, and I'm desperate to get one of these guys onto my keychain!
