Here it is without the cross body comm pouch/strap. I repurposed the old strap and pad.

The MOAB 6 makes a great shoulder bag! Too bad 5.11 didn't make it that way to start. It pretty much fails as a sling bag.

I just purchased a Moab 6 recently to do this very hack. I love my Mira but sometimes it’s a little difficult to get into it with the shoulder bag attached. The Moab 6 connected to the Rush 12 with the tier system will make a more usable Mira-like bag. Awaiting the shoulder strap from Amazon and will post photos when complete.

It was a great idea in theory, execution was strenuous. If I were still in the service and being deployed, this would be a great setup. However, I’m an aged sailor now and this was very awkward. I went back to the Mira.
I really liked the Moab and will keep it and use this setup when the zombie apocalypse happens and I need to bug out.

good ideas, I've been using mine for years and it still looks great, I added a metal loop to the *pals at the ends of of the carry handle and feed the end of the body strap through one or the other.
of course the reason people hate the strap is that most do not know the correct way to wear the bag as it is counter intuitive.

I did the same thing with my maxpedition Lunada. Attach the strap in the same way using Grimm locks. Makes a great shoulder bag.

That’s a sweet clean cut there! Can I ask how you did it.

I’ve used a razor blade in vise-grips and a torch in the past. Get it red hot and it cuts/melts pretty good.

I have an extra Moab6 in tan and it might just get this kind of “surgery!”

I just cut it with trauma shears. Those things will cut anything.
