Yes, without the optics, you can definitely do permanent damage. Although, I wonder how difficult it would really be to mod something to work. It's just a little lens, doesn't sound like rocket science to me. I bet the guys over at CPF would have a million ideas.

Still, I'd rather blind someone than get shot.

It is definitely NOT worth the money they're asking. But, it was worth it to me at the time to not be completely unarmed.

I'm surprised hand held lasers aren't more popular. Even the 10mw units are pretty impressive at night.

The pepper sauce EDC has me fascinated as I am addicted to all things hot! Where can I find suitably small EDC squeeze bottles? Also, do you refrigerate these every day, or does most pepper sauce not require it?

    Thanks in advance.

Though I'm not currently an EDCer of hot sauce, I've given the idea some serious thought; the post you quoted earlier contains a photo of one of Nalgene's small bottles, which I think are well-suited to the task of holding sauces and other condiments. If I were to start carrying any sauces, it'd be in the little Nalgene bottles.

Thanks for the tip. I am also curious about refrigeration...are those of you that EDC hot sauce not concerned about it spoiling? Or am I just being a Nancy...

I bought some damasteel round bar stock and had it turned on a lathe. Ray Kirk at Raker Knives did the heat treat and etching. Migs (GreenLED on the forum here) added the glow-in-the-dark epoxy to the hole for the activator stud. I usually carry it in a pocket case made from padded pigskin. I'm a big Star Wars fan. Here's a pic of me and my little girl in '06:

I was curious also, so here are some links:

    Fourth question down:
    http://www.davespepperpalace.com/faq.aspx

In summary: Refrigeration necessary? Maybe, check the label. A good idea, in any case.

I's hardly practical, but I often carry this swagger stick, especially after a drink or two.

    stiantha,

Your post of the jugling bean bags reminding me of an unusual EDC item that I used to have on me all of the time...

The humble Hacky Sack. I was quite good at it (years ago). I should start using it again. I could use the exercise.

I used to EDC a Hacky Sack, but I lost it in the Sien in 1993 and never replaced it.

Not odd at all. I have several of these:

Fashioned for pennies from 1" poly irrigation tube. Cut to length (to fit your hand) and then cut out about 5/16" lengthwise.

They'll hold as many bags as you can carry in one hand, and they also work for carrying bundles of newspaper (or anything else) tied up with twine.
