Hey everyone I have been reading and researching for days and still can't seem to make a decision on exactly what I want so I need some :help: from you all. My EDC bag will be my daily commute (on bike) to the gym and then from the gym to work. I will be carrying work clothes and lunch as well as gym clothes after I leave the gym. These are the few bags that I have in mind:

    • GORUCK GR2
    • T.A.D. Fast Pack EDC
    • 5.11 All Hazards Prime
    • 5.11 Rush 24
I would like some input, feedback, pictures and thoughts please. Also, if anyone has a combination of any of these packs how do they compare to each other. Thanks for the help in advance

Will you be carrying small EDC items like pens, knives, etc that would require an admin section, or organizer area?

This is the inside of the GR1 (I know you were looking for GR2) to give an example of adding a small admin pouch... (Tactical Tailor horizontal E&E here)

Thanks Bigfoot. I am sure that the GR1 & 2 are similar. Definitely one thing I will have to consider for the GORUCK since it doesn't have an actual admin pocket. But it can be a positive since I can pick one that fits my needs exactly.

How do you figure? If anything, I think it has more, though admittedly I'm basing my opinion on the rush 12.

The 5.11 Rush 24 is a nice bag. I think thats the route I'd take.

    The admin area seems similar.
The internal main compartment are not built in may be a better way to put it.
My own observation is based on pictures I've seen.
I have not handled the All Hazard Prime.
Sorry if I'm off on this.

    I'm out here somewhere.

Heck, you might be right. I'll just have to pick up a Rush 24 and find out ;)

A little disturbing having an uncovered blade and trigger guard in there.

Are you being serious? You really think I let those tools slide loose in the pack?

The glock and campanion are sitting out of their holster for photography purposes.

I didn't think that was really how you packed it. Besides not having ready access to tools you may need quickly. :)

Ok so after some thought(even though a lot of people recommend it) I am am taking the Rush 24 out of the line up. I am leaning more toward the T.A.D. Fast Pack EDC or the 5.11 All hazards Prime at the moment. I do really like the GORUCK also, but I think I would like to purchase that in the future for an Extended/overnight pack.

If you can wait a couple of weeks, Myrddraal just sent me his spare 5.11 All Hazards Prime pack so I could do an extensive comparison review between it and the RUSH 24 (yeah, he's cool that way). I want to EDC it for a week or two before I write the review - hence the delay.

However, I have done an initial inspection of the AHP. In terms of the organization, out of the box, the RUSH 24 does have better organization than the AHP for small EDC items. In fact, it's pretty much the gold standard when it comes to organization. Better than (gasp) the GoRuck GR1 or TAD Fast Pack EDC.

BTW, I'm saying "out of the box" because with the AHP's internal molle panel, additional pouches or even a GridIt can be added internally without adding additional bulk to the pack that can provide more organization. In terms of larger items (jackets, laptops, tablets, powercords, etc.), the AHP is superior. I know... clear as mud. I always do picture heavy write-ups so it will probably make more sense after you read the review. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, I think I can hold out for a little while to wait for your write up. I have been reading your write up of the Rush 24 and like your practical reviews and also that it is picture heavy. I think one of the things I like about the AHP is that includes features from the Rush, T.A.D. and GR.
