I was looking for a way of turning two-toned 1 and 2 euro coins into rings, and this is what I came up with

[IMG]coin signet ring by juan pedro almeida, en Flickr

Turned out pretty nice, but drilling the hole for the rivet was, say, difficult.
As you can see, the rivets are off-centered on the underside -and this is my best after messing up two coins

While rummaging through a drawer I found eight cut, drilled and textured link plates I had forgotten.
I rivetted them, then I remember´d I had some lacing leather somewhere.
To finish I made a bead from a thick brass washer -first try at fileworking.

I´d been thinking over the idea suggested by @Gary Gross but wasn´t feeling inspired so I made these to dust of my trinket-fu

Then I decided to try the shield shape on a piece simpler than a ring so I selected a suitable coin and made a lapel pin -you can´t get much simpler, but I´m pleased how it turned out

It´s open-sided, with brass standoffs and copper rivets

I like all of it!! I'm particularly interested in the shield without the pin.

I just made this on request for a cycling customer.

Although the subjet was nothing I had previously considered I found the design almost instantly.
