Carrying more EDC weight and volume on your body may offer more options to solve emergencies, but it also can be less safe in some situations. For example if you are attacked or harrassed by a dog or a person, and you need to flee by running or with a bicycle.

You make a good point, in case of hostile contact running away should be your first option but if all else fails this is where all the goodies come in handy. I do not promote the use of force to solve disputes but if my own safety is stake the other person can go suck it.

If your body doesn't do what you want it to, you need to sort that out before wondering what toy to get next. That said, I carry a decent amount of gear but I always make sure I can run, jump, and climb with it.

KAMM! Fences are no obstacle for EDCF ninjas! :ninja:

Guilty, perhaps of "too much EDC".

Never felt a compelling need to to run. I also ride a bike as primary transportation. I have never noticed an issue with not being able to move quickly, with all my EDC gear on. I also have the same EDC 24/7 (or as much of it as I am awake for).

When I read the title I thought about that guy from American Idol who sang his own song 'Pants on the Ground'.

Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground!

    Too much EDC? <-----OXYMORON.
    Get a wheelbarrow.

    Too stubborn to run.
And: running causes my sight picture to jiggle around.

Extra gear means spare clips & speedloaders & blades & whistles & lights & batteries & machete & Wetterlings.
Stack yer gear-build a fort and hunker down.

    Too much EDC? Meh.
Increase protein; increase fluids; increase workout.

As Dad useta say,"Boys, don't worry about the mule going blind. Just load the wagon!"

I personally pack and wear my gear in a fashion that ensures both safety of my gear and myself. If I cant run, jump, shimmy underneath something, climb or fit in a small space I personally need to figure out what I should do to my gear to fit whatever need wasn't met. I'm not going to decrease what I carry in order to run quicker I'm going to make sure I can run just as quick WITH my gear. ;)

Couple random thoughts upon seeing this thread title. Not sure if serious.

How many Altoids tins qualifies as overloaded?

If anyone has too much EDC, the rest of us would happily accept gifts. :p

And a wheelbarrow? If you don't have toddlers to haul your gear for you, just tie a Radio Flyer to your pack with some GITD paracord and keep on buying. :D
