No one here can tell you if you should shell out the money for a Bihn bag. I have several and I like all of them. I don't use them anymore but that's a different story. It's a personal decision. They have a great return policy if you don't like the bag.

Just ordered a side effect for a messenger bag and after placing my order changed my mind and sent off another email requesting other stuff. By the time I woke next morning the email had been replied to, the items added, and the stuff sent to me with a tracking number. When it comes to customer service Tom Bihn really is the gold standard.

You've made me curious why do you no longer use them? Found another bag that works better for you or something else?

And this is coming from someone whose avatar is the Apple Computer logo... Hmm... Something doesn't compute.

Premium products get premium pricing, especially when made in USA of top quality materials, and not on a mammoth factory floor reaping significant economies of scale.

I was only looking for justification of their pricing... Are they simply a brand or are they the quality that you can expect from a bag for $200+ dollars? From the consensus on here I gather that they are of top quality materials, made in the USA and are definitely worth the extra cash.

Yes Apple is part of a social niche, however their products are also top of the line no questions asked. I like to ask these questions because I don't buy into fads or social gimmicks, I look at functionality and the utility of the product before making any decisions. I asked, you guys answered. So, thanks. Lol

That's cool. I using a small Tom Bihn clear organizer pouch to carry my train pass. Stays clipped to my bag and I take it out when they call to show tickets on the train. I haven't seen anyone else with one and I'm asked about it all the time.

We're proud to choose today -- April 1st -- to announce our new line of bags: Flocculent by TOM BIHN

We’ve heard from many of you just how much you appreciate that our filament (non-texturized nylon, e.g. 1050d HT ballistic nylon and 420 high-tenactity Parapack) fabrics are much less likely to collect pet hair than 500 and 1000d Cordura.

But we’ve also heard from some of you that simply miss the… hair. You know who you are: you’re the kind of person that “forgets” to use a lint brush because you think a healthy addition of dog or cat hair completes any look. Maybe it makes you feel a little more wild, a little more in touch with your “animal” side.

And that’s why we’re introducing a new line — Flocculent by TOM BIHN. First to debut is the Hairy Swift, complete with a matching Faux Baby Albino Seal Fur Yarn Stuff Sack.

Here’s Ben modeling the Hairy Swift. Roomy enough for his tools, soft and plush enough to warm his hands after working on a job site on a cold day — it’s the perfect bag for any handy guy. And it’s so eye-catching that his girlfriend insists that he leave it at home when they go out, lest anyone might try to steal it.

    There's even room for lunch!

Hairy Swift w/Faux Baby Albino Seal Fur Yarn Stuff Sack. $1000. Available pending resolution of a few minor legal issues. May be further regulated by local authorities, state authorities, federal authorities, good taste and common decency.

    I have a few questions.

What kind of organizers would you recommend for someone who owns a Synapse 25 and an Aeronaut?
