Discussion in 'EDC Bags' started by TOM BIHN Crew, Nov 8, 2012.
I did and I thanked them again for supporting our Forum
Welcome to the forum.
My partner has a medium cafe bag plus the extra wallets and key straps, and she loves it!

Didn't see it till afterward
Gotta stay off that site though, that Synapse is justa' callin to me... or is it the Smart Alec? Possibly the Brain Bag? Gggaaaahhhhh!!!
Oh well. At least this is Tom Bihn's thread Enjoy your bag! Btw, which bag did you get?
You might be able to send him a PM and let him know about your order and that you saw it on EDCF.
Syclone1436 had a good suggestion -- PM me your order # and I'll make sure it gets counted for the forums.
FYI, "Troublemaker" is a member designation - not the member's name. It was assigned to members who, well, made trouble in a particular instance. The member name is at the bottom of the banners.
That's some stand-up service! Kudos to the Tom Bihn Crew!
Gotcha! PM incoming...
I ordered the Packing Cube Backback...the one that fits the Tri-Star and Western Flyer.
Aw you don't have to make it sound so bad! We only cause alittle trouble now and then.
Oops! Thanks for the heads-up.
Question for the Tom Bihn crew - Colors. I'm surprised you don't carry some other colors popular on forums like these. The thought of a Synapse in Coyote Brown, Multicam or a nice dark "stealth" grey is DROOLWORTHY.
This has MOOSH written all over it.
Starting to like the looks of that clear organizer wallet too... Anyone have one? I think I would use it to replace my regular wallet if possible.
Just noticed you guys make an RFID blocking pouch. Just figured out what my first Tom Bihn purchase is going to be!
OK so there are 3 backpacks what one has the most capacity and internal organization.
I know there are a ton of x tras.
I keep going back to that Field Guide, I need to finish the journal i am writing in now so I can get it and combine my journal and planner.
I could just cut out the extra pages in the one I am using and punch holes for The Field Guide.
Ok, finally a legitimate question instead of all the drooling. How is the water resistance of the Dyneema vs. Cordura?
Both fabrics have the same water-resistant coatings, so they're equally as water resistant.
Most built-in internal organization: the Synapse (runner-up: the Smart Alec)
Most capacity: the Brain Bag (runner-up: the Smart Alec)
The Smart Alec might be "just right".
You mentioned a ton of extras, and that's definitely true: while our bags come standard with great built-in organization/pockets, the internal organization of our bags can largely be customized depending on which organizational inserts, laptop inserts, or pouches/pockets you add. I'm guessing you already know this but thought I'd explain for the sake of others.
+1 on this. The Synapse is by far the best organized bag I own. On the "how long does it take me to find item X?" scale, it blows all my other packs away.
The Synapse is not a huge pack (1160 c.i.). I'll occasionally switch out if I need to carry a few days worth of clothes in addition to everyday items. It's perfect for EDC though.
TB Crew: Has Tom ever considered doing the Synapse in ballistic? I think it would look awesome and give me an excuse to buy another!
Awesome, glad to hear it. Do you have any (or have you posted any) photos of how your Synapse is organized? Would be cool to see.
As for the 1050d ballistic Synapse: you might just see something like that sometime in 2013....
For everyone else -- here's a few photos that show off the organizational pockets of the Synapse:
