It all circles back to knives for me.

I got a Micro-Recon 1 to get a feel for the Triad lock. Normally, I don't take anything seriously unless it has at least 2" of blade.

The Micro got me thinking about that bias. For such a small knife, it feels very sturdy, and I realized that there is a relationship between the feel of the lock, and my confidence in the knife.

So, EDCF'ers: what other knives do you know, in the sub-2" blade range, with a lock that feels "solid"?

+1 for the Ladybug. :) I also fancy my Vic Classic blades. :D I think the Spyderco Squeak's blade is right at 2" and I had carried it as my primary blade for a while. :p Cute lil thing.

I agree with the Ladybug. It's a great little knife. Tough as nails, able to handle alot of tasks, and small enough not be a bother.

Boker Nano. Nice solid frame lock and it fits my hand great.

    Best lock ever [IMG]

I also have this Gerber Saber (the one on top) that would (just) classify:

I don't EDC it though. The frame-lock works fine but it feels too fat in my pocket, it doesn't seem to fit in my hand, & it's too tough to open one handed.

I like small knives for my edc. I've yet to find a cutting chore in my suburban life that needs more than 2 inches of blade. Case peanut, Victorinox classic, and Christy knife are my regulars. Here's my three little cutters with three little shooters.

Ok, that Christy is just a nifty knife. I may have to pick one of those up.

The Boker Keycom is 1.5 inches blade length and sturdy lockwise. I'd buy it for more than a dollar.

Here are a couple of mine:

    Case Tiny Trapper
    [IMG]

    Case Peanut
    [IMG]

Boker Keycom (also in photo is a Case Small Texas Jack)

I carry the Boker Keycom with me all of the time. For such a small knife, it works fine one-handed (using the flashlight as a lanyard), and is very sturdy, yet when folded is the same size if not smaller than many USB flash drives.

I also usually have one of the Case knives in a pocket. Either those pictured or something similar.

I've been carrying just my Leatherman PS4 for the past few days, and haven't needed a larger blade yet. I do enjoy carrying knives a little larger than the PS4 blade, but its mainly just because I like that particular knife design, no because of the blade size. Ever so often though, I get on the "what do I really NEED to carry" kick. That's when I go minimal. What I've found is that the PS4, and the tiny Streamlight Nano, do everything I need.

I've got a SOG Blink which is a brilliant little thing - hardly tell it's in your pocket but it's got plenty of blade for it's size. Also comes with an ambidextrous clip which is a big bonus for me :)
